I don't quite understand why Netanyahu signed the last interim Mideast peace aggreement between Israel and the Palestinians. Israel certainly seems to be getting the short end of the stick ( actually just the shaft ). What I do understand is this: ' U.S. ( Clinton ) foreign policy seems to be giving world terrorists a free ride '.
You answer, ' Clinton is getting tough on terrorists, he said so '. ' Remember how he punished the evil people responsible for the two embassy bombings, with devastating cruise missile attacks'!
Sorry, you fell for the ' wag the dog ' spin routine again!
While villifying Osama Bin Laden to those Americans who had never heard of him before, and spending tens of millions of dollars for a cruise missile fireworks show in Sudan and Afganistan, may seem like a great way to send a get-tough message to world terrorists to some; I believe that it was all designed as a public relations ploy by Bill Clinton, and only served to stir up the hornets nest of anti-American sentiment throughout the arab world. See: Beat The Dog. ( 8-22-98 ) and Doggin' The Waggers. ( 8-23-98 ) . Trading millions of dollars worth of cruise missiles to destroy an aspirin factory and a few tents in the mountains, is not exactly what I would call retribution!
You then say, ' What about the President's harsh state ot the union address, when he pledged to continue being tough on Iraq through full implementation of UN weapons inspections'.
Wrong, you believed Clinton's lies, again. This time Clinton enlisted the aid of Madeline Albright and Sandy Berger in perpetrating another hoax, to make himself look tough on terrorists in the media. Clinton was in fact canceling the inspections at that very moment! We would never have aware of Clinton's sellout to Saddam, but for the courage of UN inspector, Scott Ritter. He exposed the President's deception to the public, through a televised Senate hearing. See: Unsafe at UNSCOM. ( 9-4-98 )
Getting frustrated with my debunking of your phoney examples, you cite the recent interim peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.
That was truely a bad choice of examples. The peace agreement actually orders Israel to release 750 arabs from it's prisons ( a majority of these people were undoubtedly terrorists, and possibly recruited other prisoners to their evil cause while in confinement ). This release can only add to the terrorist ranks of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad ( both still sworn terrorist enemies of Israel, pledging to ignore the signed peace plan ). Other details of the plan, like giving more authority to the Palestinian police force, are hollow promises at best. The Palestinian authority harbors the terrorists, and doesn't arrest them or shut down their operations. Admitted terrorists who reside in Palestine free of prosecution include, the leader of the Islamic militant group Hamas, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, who lives in safety, in Gaza City. More rural areas of the Gaza Strip area include whole towns like, Rafah, where the Islamic Jihad enjoys safe haven. These individuals and/or groups have taken responsibility for numerous acts of terrorism, that have caused countless loss of innocent lives, and they are allowed to run free ( and plan more new acts of death ). Through the opening of an international airport in Gaza, the dark side will have it's own, ' Terrorist International Airport '. How can there ever be a true peace, with these self admitted murders still getting safe passage through out Palestine, and now from anywhere in the world to Palestine?
Lastly, did you realize that we, the American people, are actually giving hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign aid to the Palestinians? That is correct, we may be indirectly ( or directly ) funding the terrorists, ourselves!
These four glaring examples of Clinton's foreign policy, illustrate a coddling of world dictators and terrorists, and not a ' get tough on world terrorism ' approach. Clinton's message to terrorists, is one of impotence!
