Okay man, I knew this hearing with four government whistle-blowers was happening today and I was ready for some heavy duty action. A press release by the committee, listed physicist Robert Henson, of Los Alamos, the one who broke the W-88 warhead theft, as one of today's four witnesses.
Well, C-Span, usually obliging in cases like this with atleast a computer feed via the internet on C-Span Extra, didn't show this important Red Chinese espionage related public offering, today. We shall see if they show it over the weekend. Instead of airing this hearing after the House and Senate sessions were over, there was a parade of stale politically correct video tapes left over from from Tuesday and Wednesday; plus Janet Reno doing her air massage and, soon to be, Ambassador Holbrooke confirming that Senator Joseph Biden was as pompous as any human being could possibly be, plus Senator Dungheap and a three-peat of today's Pentagon briefing ( so important? ). This suspicious omission, only goes to show, how much the entire American media has become a liberal Democrat, Clinton apologist, DNC propaganda mouthpiece!
C-Span really takes the cake today, by bowing in homage to their great living God, the Pharoah Bill Clinton, with their non-coverage of the committee hearing. I did see some short snippets and Dan Burton ( R ), Chairman of the committee, as a guest on the FOX Network's " Hannity and Colmes ", adversarial political talking head show. I might have seen a mention of the hearings on MSNBC, but if so, only a quick a hit. To the FOX Network's credit, they had the most extensive coverage of the event.
The ranking member, and truely rank himself, Henry Waxman ( D ) tried to make light of all four of these courageous civil servants. Waxman is a partisan DNC uber alles hack and takes his orders directly from the White House.
Jonathan Fox, of the Department of Defense, was ordered by his superiors to delete parts of hos report on Red Chinese espionage. He testified to this and they showed written proof, via the document in question.
Lt. Colonel Edward McCallum, of the Department of Energy, was placed on administrative leave after attempting to blow the whistle on the wrong doings at the labs. He said, " The message that our employees have received thus far is, do your duty, but do so at the risk of being smeared, fired or both ".
Dan Burton, from remarks made on Hannity and Colmes, said, " Let me tell your something that is more distressing. The Secretary of Energy, Bill Richardson; he went to the committee chairmen of other committees at the capital, he went to the Rudman Commission as I understand it, and tried to convince them not to hold hearings or to talk to Mr. McCallum. He came to my office and tried to convince me not to hold these hearings...even went to the leadership of the House, to try and stop our hearing today...We have to get to the bottom of it' make sure it never happens again...He ( Richardson ) has not adhered to our subpoenas...he has not given it to us; he has not answered our letters...He will be talking to us, because, if I have to, I will subpoena him directly...Things that have happened at the laboratories over the past couple of years, are worse than what happened with the Rosenbergs...The appearence is that he does not want this brought out to the light of day. He tried to stop our hearing today! " He continued, " Sandy Berger knew about it...at the latest in 1996 ". " He lied to the Congress, he lied to the Cox Committee " ( See: Cheeseberger! ( 3-12-99 ) for a little snack, but make sure you cook it well done!
Burton went on, " There is no question that espionage took place under other administrations...but none of them knew about this like this administration did and didn't do a darn thing about it ". Amen to that! I am quite sick and tired of hearing the Clinton apologist worms attempt to deflect the responsibility to anywhere other than their precious liar-in-chief! He finished the thought, " This administration did know about it in 1996, and they did nothing about it, and at the same time they were getting contributions from communist China. So the President of the United States knew that espionage was going on, he left When Ho Lee in that job out there at Los Alamos, and at the same time is getting money from the communist Chinese. Now, you put those things together; I can't ".
On Richardson, he clarified, " The Energy Department under Richardson is trying to keep a lid on this. He doesn't want Congress to hear anything about it. He has tried to stop every hearing that we have had...it's reprehensible ". On Janet Reno's part in the cover-up, he opined, " She has been blocking for the administration...she should be replaced ". See: Puppet, Marionette, now Mannequin? ( 1-30-99 ) .
Finally, Burton had to comment on our fearless leader, " The President has lied about a number of things, as we all know...This administration has been very, very derelict and corrupt. See: The Whitehouse Kennel Club? ( 3-20-99 ) .
Peter Lietner testified before the committee, but I don't have any juicey quotations.
The Burton Committee also held closed door hearings, because of violations of national security.
DOE is acting like all the other Clinton administration organs involved in covering up his disgraceful anti-American and possibly criminal behavior, as Dan Burton said later, " I am seriously considering a contempt citation against Bill Richardson for not turning over subpoened documents ". Sounds familiar, huh?
While these four were tesifying and the media largely ignoring it, Clinton crony supreme and current Energy Secretary Bill Richardson was at the labs, saying, " Talk to me candidly, don't sugarcoat it ". Yeah right, what a liar this creep actually is. A worker asked him, if he would be willing to take a polygraph test, and Richardson lied, " I am prepared to take it ". It will be a cold day in Hell, before Richardson does anything of the kind; he has way too many things to hide!
You want to talk total sickness, then check this Associated Press snippet by H. Josef Hebert: " ' The concern has been expressed that Asian-Americans are being unfairly profiled,' Richardson said in an interview as he flew to Los Alamos after a visit earlier in the day to the Savannah River nuclear facility in South Carolina ". The depths that this administration will sink, in the name of political correctness, is nauseating!
It really does make you wonder, why all the networks, broadcast, cable and computer, would so obviously have a group case of amnesia about these hearings, related to the monumentally important case of the acquisition of our technology by the People's Republic of China?
