How Much Is That Nobel Peace Prize In The Window?

Excuse me; do you mean in dollars, donuts or bodybags?

As Bill Clinton ' wags the Nobel Peace Prize dog ' in Central America, he hopes that offering the hurricane Mitch victims from outside the United States some free U.S. taxpayer dollars, will make the Nobel Peace Prize Commission think he truely feels their pain. This is a hollow gesture, and is totally irresponsible; as the millions he is offering, are directly coming from the Social Security Trust Fund ( You remember that, right? It's the thing Clinton promised to save and not raid, just last week. )! This President of ours just does not seem to stop promising everything to everybody, no matter what the consequences are to our country or his ability to keep the promises he makes. I guess he truely is the Campaigner-in-chief, and he is always campaigning for something ( it just happens to be The Nobel Peace Prize right now ). So while Airforce One jets around the world, with Clinton looking for more new pain to be eased, the President's prior peace programs are at best on hold or in shambles ( Dayton, Wye, what's that? )!

*Bosnia*

The Serbs have threatened to dump the Dayton accords. It is being reported by The Associated Press, that " Bosnian Serb lawmakers decided Sunday in an emergency session to suspend cooperation with Bosnia's Muslims and Croats after the international rulings, which have sparked violent protests since Friday. Nikola Poplasen told AP that the decision on Brcko ( pulling control of this city from the Serbs ) " annuls " the 1995 Dayton agreement, which ended the 3 1/2-year Bosnian war. The Bosnian-Serb lawmakers, in a 62-16 vote, instructed Serb officials to " cease their work " with the Muslim-Croat republic until the international decisions are reversed. " Now, Carlos Westendorp, the chief international official in Bosnia who oversees the Dayton accord, fired Poplasen for refusing to officially name the moderate Milorad Dodik as prime minister in the Bosnian-Serb republic. Everything is going just great in Bosnia-Herzegovina, huh?

*Kosovo*

Ethinic Albanians have signed on to the latest peace plan, but it was brokered by Bob Dole, and what of the Serbs? It is being reported today that " fresh fighting broke out in Kosovo along the Macedonian border " amid continuing attempts by U.S. and European envoys to forge a peace deal between rival Serbs and ethnic Albanians. Remember, Kosovo is ninety percent ethnic Albanian, so why should the Serbs get a fifty-fifty say in the matter? Oh yeah, they threw out our official envoy, wouldn't issue Bob Dole a new visa this time around and now they are negotiating with German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer. He has arrived in Belgrade for talks with Yugoslav officials as the Albanians signed the agreement today offering autonomy and not complete independence!

*Iraq*

Every sunrise these days seems to bring a new Iraqi target of opportunity for coalition aircraft to bomb ( yeah, you can call it a coalition, because the British and French have a token presence there ). First it's surface to air missile sites, then it's a communications center and now it's an oil pipeline station? I am starting to think that many innocent Iraqis are beginning to pay for Bill Clinton's positive opinion poll numbers with their own blood! See: The Iraqi Wheel of Misfortune. ( 11-18-98 ) .

*Israel*

PLA, PLO, Hamas or Hezbollah, take your pick? What a difference a day makes. One day the Palestinians are waving those plastic American flags for the media cameras, distributed just before Clinton's visit to Terrorist International Airport in Gaza City, the next day they are burning them in protest! Increased tentions in Lebanon have found Sheik Hassan Nasrallah going on record with the leftist As-Safir newspaper that Hezbollah would not go along with any changes to the 1996 truce. Nasrallah also seemed to threaten Israel when he said Hezbollah would continue to fire Katyusha rockets across the border into northern Israel if Lebanese civilians ( Hezbollah guerillas? ) come under attack. Israel usually blasts some Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon with attacks from jet aircraft, after these attacks. To Israel's credit, it showed some restraint in not retaliating overwhelmingly, after an Israeli general was killed by a Hezbollah road bomb/mine last week. Surrounded by it's enemies, Israel has only managed to survive for as long as it has, by being strong and vigilant. I don't think Netanyahu will fall for the Clinton phoney peace plan action again ( no matter how much money the Whitehouse pledges to send )!

*Northern Ireland*

Yes, today many of the parties signed on to the final document. The problem is that Gerry Adam's militant arm of the Irish Republican Army refuses to lay down their arms before the new government is formed ( ofcourse, the other side refuses to form the new cabinet posts needed until the IRA disarms? ). It looks like they are sort of stuck in a Catch-22 situation?

*North Korea*

These guys are still holding out for the inspection fee from us for access to see a secret underground nuclear research site. It is not so hard to understand, if you remember how the Whitehouse shook them down just for photo opportunities on a Saturday morning. After all, their underground site won't be a secret any more, if they let us in there to look at it. I mean man, even I can understand that one!

*Red China*

Another day, another nuclear secret given to the militant hard-line communists in power there. You know, some day they are going to use these illegally disclosed technological advances against us. Today, it was miniaturized nuclear warhead technology ( W-88 ), yesterday it was missile guidance systems; tomorrow what will it be? It is being reported that Energy Secretary Bill Richardson today pledged the administration's full cooperation with a Senate committee's investigation ( don't hold your breath ) into allegations that lax security in a weapons laboratory ( illegal campaign contributions to the Clinton/Gore presidential campaign ) allowed China to steal ( receive from Clinton/Whitehouse/DNC cronies ) technology that improved its nuclear weapons capability. " We will not tolerate the theft of our secrets, " Richardson said on CNN ( see, he is not lying, as he didn't say " sale of our secrets " ). Oh man, what a whopper! I remember how the Clinton Whitehouse had these Red Chinese technology concerns transferred to the Commerce Department, where security is absolutely non-existant, just to make it easier!

It would be really disgraceful, if Bill Clinton bought the Nobel Peace Prize with some humanitarian dollars from the US taxpayers and a bunch of phoney temporary peace accords that are destined to fall apart shortly after he leaves office!
