Democrats Chew Their Republican Cud?

With the fun he had at his House of Representitives impeachment party in the Rose Garden of the Whitehouse last year still fresh in his mind, the President sent his loyal liar and Whitehouse press secretary/spokesman Joe Lockhart out to begin the gloating over his victory, over justice, decency and both houses of Congress, of remaining in office. Lockhart defiantly and smugly began the upcoming two year long period of gloating, by condescendingly announcing, " I now declare in a post-impeachment era, this is a gloat-free zone ". This guy could be funny, if he didn't lie like a reptile in defense of his morally bankrupt fearless leader so convincingly!

While the scent of recently chewed Republican flesh remained strong on their breathe, Democrat Senators are searching for a way to rationalize letting their morally bankrupt first philandering despot out of the impeachment proceedings victorious! The likes of Tom Harkin and John Breaux seem almost gleeful in their defensive announcements of the impending exoneration of their defendant-in-chief.

Republican Larry Craig was asked about voting for a censure motion, at a break in the Senate impeachment trial proceedings on Saturday. He said any censure motion would have to be proceeded by a finding of fact. He told it like it is, by describing censure as a cop-out for those Senators who voted for acquittal, to be able to say to their constituents how hard they were on the naughty ( but not guilty? ) President. See, this goes to what I was saying about Senators being appointed and not elected prior to the twentieth century ( and not bowing to public pressure )! See: Closing The Fail? ( 2-6-99 ) .

What still mystifies me, is why is the Republican party is still taking the hits for what a Democrat president did wrong? Maybe this pollaganda will not turn out to be an accurate reflection of reality, and the DNC will be blown away in the year 2000 election!

With poor excuses for Senators like Democrats Barbara Boxer and Charles Schumer being freshly elected, there is little chance for the situation in Washington D.C. to change from the existing extreme partisanship to cooperation, in the near future!
