Unsafe At Woodstock 1999!

The 60s celebration of Peace Love and Crystal Beads, becomes a violent criminal riot in 1999!

In 1969, the original Woodstock may have been a celebration of " sex, drugs and rock'n roll ", but the turn of the millennium version was a celebration of anti-social rap and Satanic rock. The big deal in 1969 may have been the band " Country Joe and The Fish " singing a song speaking out against the Vietnam War, which included mildly abusive four letter word lyrics, but this so-called ' Woodstock ' saw that eclipsed by even the most mainstream of bands ( though not all of them )!

This year's big finish was a riot by the audience, while Satanic rock group Megadeth pounded out accompanyment. The criminal element in the crowd no longer engaged in the victimless crimes of public sex or drug use, but turned on the innocent concessionaires as a whole. The crowd, acting more like a mob, first broke into and looted the stalls of their goods, then set fire to place, for the proper ( Satanic? ) atmosphere in closing the show!

People were caught on video tape throwing cases of stolen goods to the crowd, but no police were to be found? Masses of criminals were taped breaking the temporary structure apart and then lighting them on fire, but once again, there was no sign of the fire department or police department?

Sadly, and disgustingly, Mayor Joe Griffo of Rome, New York, the local authority, praised the way Woodstock 1999 was handled? Yes you read that right. Griffo was interviewed and said, " The State Police made a decision to wait ", as they saw " no immediate concern ". I wonder if the concessions operators feel that way, huh? The degradathon interview of Griffo ended with more rationalizations and fictions, as he described the actions by fire and police departments as being done, " properly ". Yes, that is really what he said, but I almost fell out of my chair when he ended the interview with, " This event went exceptionally well ". What? Was he expecting murders, or something worse than destroying the entire place?

Granted, a handful of rioters were arrested, I believe seven total, but that doesn't condone what the organizers let happen, in the famous name of the original Woodstock happening!

I wonder how James Brown felt about the violence, as he was the opening act in kicking off Woodstock 1999?
