Hot on the heals of his precious Democrat party victory of November 3rd, our beloved leader is reverting back to his true nature; a far left wing liberal. Now that he smells Republican blood in the water, he feels no need to play the part of a moderate any longer. I believe that Clinton will begin to boldly show his 60s radical liberal nature, which borders on that of socialism. This is plainly illustrated by his attack on gun shows and gun collectors this morning!

President Clinton today ordered the Treasury and Justice departments to recommend ways to stop gun shows from exploiting a loophole in the Brady gun control law. He directed Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and Attorney General Janet Reno to present to him within two months a plan to close the Brady law loophole and prohibit any gun sale without a background check. The states also have laws covering personal gun sales, and vendors at these shows must abide by them. The vast majority of the people at these shows collect expensive arms and the leather accessories associated with them. Many people have been attending these shows for decades, and take their children along to introduce them to firearms safety. These shows are a postive force in helping reduce accidents and encourage education; they should not be villified ( like so many people and organizations that hold differing views of the radical left wing fringe of the DNC ).

Clinton spent a lot of time campaigning for Charles Schumer and Barbara Boxer, who both never met a gun law that they didn't like ( unless it didn't go far enough for their tastes ). Obviously, it is political payback time! He is dancing a duet with socialist advocacy groups like Handgun Control Inc. ( this group has openly pledged to rid the United States of America of ALL handguns )! These anti-Constitutional fanatics pass one gun law after another, each time proclaiming that the current new statute will be a cure all; but secretly conspiring to keep up the assault on the firearms collector, with an orchestrated campaign to eventually confiscate all firearms!

Clinton goes on to characterize these guns shows as " illegal arms bazaars ", and went on to say, " We didn't fight as hard as we did to pass the Brady law only to let a handful of unscrupulous gun dealers disrespect the law, undermine our progress and put our families at risk ''. This seems just a tad hypocritical from Clinton, who pardoned Dan Lassiter ( convicted of drug felonies ) while Governor of Arkansas, allowing him to carry a firearm! So Clinton obviously believes that it is okay for convicted drug dealers to carry a gun, but not for collectors to get together and buy/sell/trade classic collectable firearms. Just how many criminals use expensive collector arms to commit crimes?

In fact, this is also an assault on the rights of the states themselves, to regulate their own internal affairs. Gun laws do very from state to state, and these various regulations cover gun collector shows. Get your meddlesome hands away from our Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms, Mister President!
