50 Years of the United States Presidency oversimplified?

Looking back as the real first year of the new millenium approacheth.

FDR got us involved in a both a HOT WAR, World War II, and a COLD WAR, by caving in to the communist CCCP and Joseph Stalin.

Harry Truman got us out of World War II with thousands of fewer casualities than the experts of the time estimated, by having the guts to drop the atomic bomb twice.

Dwight D. Eisenhower presided over one of the last administrations with a balanced budget and no national debt. Coincidentally, since the 1990s, this was the last time the Republican party had a majority in the House of Representitives!

JFK let Cuba fall to the forces of communism ( The Bay of Pigs ) and started the Vietnam war in earnest.

LBJ escalated the Vietnam war with the phoney Gulf of Tonkin Resolution ( possibly the original ' dog wagger ' ) and along with a Democrat controlled Congress began to run deficit spending.

Richard M. Nixon got us out of Vietnam and fell on his sword ( resigned the presidency ) to uphold the integrity of the office of President of the United States.

Gerald Ford proved you could be President without being elected on a party's presidential ticket.

Jimmy Carter firmly illustrated that recent liberal Democrat Presidents are no good at making war ( the Desert One Iranian hostage rescue fiasco ) and that you can't run an automobile on peanut oil.

Ronald Reagan won the COLD WAR.

George Bush showed us that the American military was still number one in the world and that yes, blood was not thicker than crude oil.

William Clinton debased and disgraced the office of the President by turning it into a garage sale/motel/brothel and has partially undone the winning of the COLD WAR through advocating the trappings of world socialism ( the GOP controlled Congress gets the credit for balancing the budget, but the massive national debt has still to be addressed ).

If Al Gore wins in November, there will be more of the same.

If George W. Bush wins in November, we will return to our course of eliminating global communism and putting America first.
