Law degree = license to lie and/or not testify.

Attorney client privilege is a sacred one, but attorneys and their lawyer friends can invoke it at the drop of a hat to cover up their dirty dealings with each other. This is very disturbing. This gives those who pass the BAR a license to conspire together to commit crimes and not be forced to testify in court. This situation has also been ruled to apply to the dead? The DEAD? What the heck kinda' privilege does a corpse deserve? It's dead, man; end of story.

When a famous lawyer like F. Lee Bailey can go on television and blatantly mislead people about the OJ case; nothing is safe. How many examples do you want, Lee. The first one that comes to mind is his contention that Fuhrman found two gloves and is proven by Mark's saying " they " in some interview. He neglected to add that Mark was talking about all sorts of items found outside Nicole Brown's condo, and not about gloves. This just goes to show that a lawyer who I deeply respected for years, can become a pundit for someone and forget his oath.

Keeping the above in mind, it only makes one think of the depths that some shadey character, who just happens to have passed the BAR exam could go. If he gets together with other barristers in a conspiracy, they are protected by law against testifying about it.

In the political arena, if the President surrounds himself with a cadre of BAR-passers; then they can form a group of untouchable conspirators who are above the law ( and we regular citizens ). These lawyers can then begin their dirty dealings free of any worry about getting found out and prosecuted! This must be corrected by legislation at the Federal level. At least, in our government, we can legislate this new class out by limiting the goverment paid attorney client privilege. In the private sector, this could go wild, though.

Are we creating a new ROYAL class?

If these new lawyers are allowed to use this privilege at the drop of a hat, then we are truely in danger of creating a new class of citizen who has the license to run rampant over the general population!
