Spanish socialist, Javier Solana, is stepping down as Secretary General of the NATO alliance to take the post of high representative for foreign and security affairs at the European Union. The North Atlantic Council of NATO member nations has named another life-long socialist to fill the position being vacated by Solana in October. The blatant socialist being named to replace Solana as ' NATO World Dictator ', chief enforcer of global political correctness and one world government by NATO instead of the United Nations ( like we are all looking forward to that day ), is the British Defense Secretary George Robertson. This appointment of Robertson as the tenth head of NATO should make Tony Blair and Bill Clinton very happy, as they are both devout Fabian Socialists. I always assumed that Herr Clinton would like to fill that post, or that of UN Secretary General; in his climb to be crowned King of Earth? Well, he is just going to have to wait his turn!
It is being reported by Jeffrey Ulbrich of the Associated Press that, " Like Solana, Robertson, 53, is a lifelong socialist who campaigned in his youth against NATO's nuclear weapons before converting into an enthusiastic supporter of the alliance ". Funny, I remember Robertson as one of those ' NATO uber alles ', foot constantly in mouth, hardliners from the daily briefings on the NATO aggression against Yugoslavia? Robertson will be the perfect leader, as NATO seeks to enlarge it's unholy alliance, with it's new charter as single global dictator!
Defense and construction contractors should be quite happy with his appointment, as Ulbrich reports further, " Robertson has vigorously argued that NATO's European members have to draw on the lessons of the Kosovo and Bosnia conflicts to strengthen their defense capacity, developing more mobile, rapid-reaction forces ". Great, so we can look forward to NATO violating the sovereignity of independent nations on a regular basis in the upcoming new Millennium?
Extreme left-wing socialists and the anti-gun lobby should be jumping for joy, as Ulrich also reported, " As a resident of Dunblane, Scotland, Robinson had the painful duty of speaking for the community in numerous interviews following the murder of 16 children and a teacher at the local primary school in 1996. He played a high-profile role in the successful campaign to secure a near-total ban on handguns after the massacre ". What was that old bumper sticker, " You can have my handgun when you pry my cold dead fingers off of it "?
I will be waiting to see how Robertson does, trying to rekindle NATO's old relationaship with Russia. Remember, NATO owes it's own very existence to the now-defunct Warsaw Pact, which was headed by the CCCP. To me, it seems like since the end of The Cold War, Russia and NATO have reversed roles, with NATO now the perceived aggressor and Russia attempting to defend it's own sovereignity.
A socialist by any other name would smell just as sour!
