The Senate in Motion.

The Senate Impeachment Trial for The Removal of President William Jefferson Clinton.

*February 4, 1999 Day Thirteen ( 14? ). House Managers argue to continue presenting their case.*

Bill McCollum argued to have Monica Lewinsky be the only live witness presented. He thought it was important to see just who she really is. Asa Hutchinson, who deposed Vernon Jordan, asked to have his deposition entered into evidence as a " key element in obstruction of justice " and it " provides new evidence...verifying the credibility of Monica Lewinsky as a witness ". James Rogan took Sidney Blumenthal's deposition and argued that it shed some incredible new light with, " The President used a Whitehouse aide as a conduit for false information to be fed to the Grand Jury ". Lindsey Graham finished up with, " We are asking for one live witness, Miss Lewinsky ".

Whitehouse Counsel ' Comrade Commissar ' Greg Craig used the blanket defense of " the American public doesn't want it " for everything under the sun, and finished by calling the use of the video tape depositions in closing arguements as a, " duel of snippets ". I guess he forgot that they used video tape of Vernon Jordan outside the Grand Jury themselves, already?

#A variety of substitutes were offered and the votes on motions were fast and furious!

The first vote was to enter the House Manager's depositions of Monica Lewinsky, Vernon Jordan and Sidney Blumenthal into evidence in the Senate proceedings. It passed 100 to 0.

The second vote was to call Monica Lewinsky to the Senate floor as a witness. It failed 30 to 70.

The third vote was a substitute motion, for only written transcripts of the depositions to be presented as evidence. It failed 27 to 73.

The fourth vote was on using six hours to present the deposition materials in whatever form deemed necessary by the presenters. It passed 62 to 38 with Republican Senator Olympia Snowe voting no!

The fifth motion was by Tom Daschle to immediately move to closing arguements and then have a vote. It failed 44 to 56.

The sixth motion was from Charles ' Jabba The ' Ruff. David ' Darth Vader ' Kendall presented a short arguement for this motion to force the House Managers to disclose by tomorrow at 2PM, the precise exact portions of the depositions they were planning to use in their closing arguements. James Rogan quoted a California barrister, saying " it is none of your damn business what we are about to put on ". It failed 46 to 54.

The Senate impeachment trial adjourned until 10AM Saturday February 6, 1999, when closing arguements will begin with 3 hours on each side.
