A reporter debunked the Washington spinmeister lies being told about thousands of people herded into the soccer stadium in Pristina, Kosovo. He quoted a local source in Pristina describing the stadium as being completely deserted for days? This didn't slow down Rubin, in repeating every other non-substantiated ' wag the dog ' rumor that the Clinton Whitehouse could think up, from identity destruction to mass rapes! In a desperate attempt to rationalize or validate their failed attacks on Yugoslavia, and their world wide failure in dealing with U.S. foreign policy concerns in general, the Clinton cronies will leave no stone unturned and stop at nothing to stir up emotional interest in their policies or villify their concocted enemies! Rubin is really beginning to vie with Joe Lockhart for the liar's club yearly award?
Rubin said the State Department was going to ask Congress for twenty-five million dollars for relief to the refugees coming out of Kosovo? This turned into Joe Lockhart announcing that the President is authorizing fifty million dollars in emergency aid. Presumably this ' end run-like ' action ( and the doubling of the ante ) was taken because Clinton knew the Congress would have nothing to do with a knee jerk reactionary routine like that! Ooops, there goes the imaginary budget surplus into the Bill Clinton Marching and Chowder Society!
In response to questions concerning how the bombing campaign was going and what the future may bring, James Rubin, State Department Spokesman, could only say the NATO will, " broaden the list of targets " and " damage Milosevic's forces ". In response to similar set of questions at the White House press briefing, Joe Lockhart could only say the NATO attacks were designed to, " degrade his ability " to take action.
It is not only unsafe at the State Department, but at CNN as well ( but you probably knew that already ). Last night, Larry King said this, " I want you to know, the footage you are seeing is not file footage. It comes in from overseas ". Just the fact that King would have to say something like this should make you suspect the sources and inserted descriptions of the footage they are showing; especially when it looks exactly like what they showed the day before!
On C-Span yesterday, Li-Zhaoxing, Chinese Ambassador to the United States said, in regards to human rights issues, " America was practising a double standard ". Obviously the Red Chinese are not the greatest judges on matters of this kind, but when you see Kenneth Bacon from the Pentagon announce that NATO will be bombing a widdening variety of targets including those in Belgrade, it has to make you wonder how many innocent Yugoslavian civilians will be killed by our ( NATO's ) actions. Have we become as vile and evil as those the Clinton Whitehouse tries to villify?
Most disturbing was the possible Freudian slip that Sadako Ogata, United Nations Representitive for Refugees, made when asked about where the people streaming out of Kosovo will eventually go. She said, " they go to America ". Yes that is right, I heard it with my own ears! If I was in Washington D.C. right now, I would compose a question regarding this brash statement by a UN representitive, and present it to Joe Lockhart or James Rubin.
Possibly the only question left to answer now, is which large American city will be absorbing the rural agriculturally oriented Kosovar refugees?
