In the free love days of the 60s ( no AIDS, just VD; and the free clinics were booming ), people didn't have to worry about dying from having semi-anonymous sex. Sexual mores were disappearing and the gratification of sex with your friends was on the rise ( yeah, that too ). Bi-sexuality and homosexuality were becoming more prevalent. Folks wanted to throw away the conservative sexual attitudes of their parents, in rebellion against authority. Out of this climate came the " Open Marriage ".

The open marriage, is one in which the married couple realizes and condones, that either one may have sex with anyone they want, without diminishing the " love " they have for one another. I don't really know how widespread this was, but it was an established occurence, back then. I didn't approve of this!

In today's environment of AIDS, this type of conduct could amount to a death sentence!

This concept may also have contributed to the general relaxation of sexual mores, that is prevalent today. Some believe, that this is part of the root cause of the disintegration of the family structure in America ( but, that is a whole other story ).

Take a look at the march of bimbos through Bill Clinton's life, and Hillary's inaction to do something about it. He has only admitted to a couple of these affairs, out of the group who has gone public with their allegetions. You must decide for yourself, about the First Family and the nature of their marriage.

Could this be part of the reason, why David Gergen left the Whitehouse?
