*' Eat The Regressed ' featured Representitive Dan Burton ( R ), chairman of the House Government Reform Committee, and White House National Security Advisor Sandy " Cheese " Berger.
Burton, much maligned by the liberal news media because of his hard line against the obvious abuses of governmental power by the Clinton administration, was only on for a short time, to talk about Clinton granting clemency to the FALN terrorists; they were convicted of participating in various criminal activities associated with the group's campaign of bombings, bank robberies and other associated felonies, in the seventies and eighties. Burton said, " We will have a serious investigation; this is not a partisan issue ". Yeah right, I can see it now; Henry Waxman and Barney Frank laughing it all off while spouting the continuation of the Clinton/DNC/Whitehouse spinmeister ( liar ) campaign of " they did not participate in any of the violence " routine. They better watch their steps, as last week Sam Donaldson helped debunk that story ( yes, I was truely amazed ) by having, as a guest, a Clinton clemency released FALN terrorist, Ricardo Jimenez, whose broadcast video insert list of convicted crimes included such " non-violent " offenses as ARMED ROBBERY ( huh? ). Read: Danforth Day? ( 9-12-99 ) , if you missed the way the creep wouldn't say he renounced violence, was sorry for what he did and the innocent American people who were killed or wounded, or that he wouldn't continue to fight for Puerto Rican independence in the future. These Clinton apologists can put that in their crack pipes and smoke it!
Berger was his typically arrogant self, like a dental assistant with his hands inside your mouth ( oh, no; where have those hands been? or, should I say, whose pocket have they been in? ). Russert asked him about a variety of issues and got a variety of preprogrammed answers and non-answers. On the FALN clemency, he claimed the White House orchestrated lie, " They were non-violent ". He repeated the two main White House talking points fax memo mantras, whining, " They have served long terms ", and lauding Clinton's ( phoney ) war on terrorism, with, " He has elevated terrorism to the top of the agenda ". Right, sure; whatever you say, sheesh man, what a crock! He continued that whiney, I sniffed too much Nitrus-oxide during the last commercial break, tone, with, " They were not given life imprisonment ", and " I could give a list... of world leaders, cardinals and bishops, who asked for their release ". Amazingly, he didn't try to exaggerate this list of three into anything more than his typically White House sponsored campaign of half truths would let him. Tim Russert then interjected that, ' the White House was quick to leak the documents from those who were for their release, but not those who objected to it '. Berger could only only sit there, neckless ( or was it spineless? ), and smirk!
Russert then asked Berger why the International Monetary Fund continues to flush money down the Kremlin, Russian Mafia toilet? Berger responded, " There are corruption problems, but we have to put them in perspective...they have reformed...we have broken the back of communism ". They reformed them all right, they turned them from communism to organized crime; both of which are still associated with the forces of world evil. Berger also brought some misleading non-answers for Russert's questions about Red China's acquisition of American secrets ( through espionage or sale ), saying that his precious Campaign-finance-abuser-in-chief had started " the most sweeping reforms in national security "? Hey man, the only ' sweeping ' going on here, is Berger still trying to sweep the deep involvement of Clinton and the DNC in what could amount to be treasonous activities, under the proverbial rug! He did correctly point out that, " this has been going on for twenty years ", though he didn't say how the political appointees, like Hazel O'Leary for instance, had enabled the PRC to accelerate the process under Clinton's watch. Russert went around and around again with Berger, trying to get him to admitt that espionage had occured under Clinton, but he wouldn't directly answer the question, though it was put to him at least three seperate times with three different wordings. Russert first called it " espionage " and then just " spying ", but could only get, " Many countries try to obtain our secrets ", out of E-Coli Man!
Russert finally grilled the Berger a bit on the latest Clinton cave-in to world terrorist states, sucking up to North Korea. Clinton has opened up the totalitarian state to commerce, for the promise that North Korea will stop working on long distance ICBM missiles and nuclear weapons. We know that we can't trust Clinton and/or North Korea, so who can we trust? Berger said, " We have eased commercial restrictions; they get Coca-Cola and we get a ban on their nuclear program ". Huh? Have you ever heard North Korean radio on short wave, ragging on the capitalist war mongers in the United States? If you have, you would realize that we can't negotiate with these hard line communist dictatorships. Finally, Russert went around and around again with Berger, this time on the issue of whether or not the North Koreans have any nukes. Berger tried to evade answering and commented that they had enough fissionable material for a couple of bombs, but he ultimately only would say, " We can't say for sure ".
*' These Weak ' was particularly weak, though they did have Representitives Charles Rangel ( D ) and Vito Fossella ( R ) of New York, to talk about the FALN clemency outrage. Rangel continued the lie that the FALN terrorists were not involved in violence ( I guess armed robbery and making bombs used to kill and wound innocent people doesn't count as violent crime? ). He did try to cover his boss' butt, saying, " If the President was dumb enough to think this clemency thing would help the First Lady, he should take a course in political science 101 ". Fossella was the only one in touch with reality, pointing out that, " These people have expressed no contrition ", and " the victims have heard nothing from this White House over the years ". This really is a travesty of justice and all Americans should be totally outraged at this blatant misuse of presidential powers!
Do the spinmeisters at the White House really believe that the American public is still swallowing this propaganda/pure crap?
