The Buck Stops Nowhere?

Energy Secretary Bill Richardson lies his way through a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on June 21, 2000?
( or, C-Span2 finally covers something other than LEFT WING LOVEFEST FUND RAISERS? )

While the citizens of the United States of America watch a morally bankrupt and thoroughly corrupt Clinton adminstration sell, give away, or allow through arrogance and stupidity to fall into our enemy's hands, THE MOST SECRET NUCLEAR RELATED MATERIALS we possess, the FOBs ( Friends Of Bill ) who have been appointed to ' cash cow ' White House Department head positions continue to sing the tune of, " LIE, DENY, AND STICK TO IT ". As the evidence of the When Ho Lee case, Hardrive-gate and skyrocketing gas prices press the Martin Bormann-like Secretary of Energy, Bill Richardson, he keeps insisting that he is doing a demonstraby good job. Huh? From where I sit, it looks like he is helping to sell out our country for his Fabian Socialist First Philanderer, our precious campaigner-in-chief, the Dishonorable William Jefferson Clinton. The televsion show GREED, holds no monopoly around this reprehensible, cash hungry and integrity foolish, group of traitors with visions of campaign donations dancing in their groins. It certainly seems like this administration has never met a dirty deal it didn't like or a lie it didn't have the guts to tell!

Enter Bill Richardson accompanied by his THREE STOOGES, John Browne, Director of Los Alamos, Edward Curran, Department of Energy Director of Counterintelligence, and General ( general what; anesthetic? ) Eugene Habiger, Department of Energy Director of Security and Emergency Operations, to the halls of Congress for a round of F. Lee Bailey's LIE DETECTOR or TO TELL THE TRUTH?

After the dust of the opening statements cleared, it was obvious to all in attendence that the truth would be the first casuality on June 21 at the Senate Armed Services Committee, chaired by John Warner ( R ). While it became quite clear that these Clinton cronies had their spinmeister ( liar ) hats on and would not volunteer any information which hadn't been pried out of them already, one fact became blatantly clear: Bill Richardson has tried to create a SCHUTZSTAFFEL-LIKE SHADOW ORGANIZATION at the Department of Energy to do the bidding of his great living God Pharaoh Bill Clinton and his precious, the end justifies whatever means imaginable, DNC. This group is the most egregious violator of our nation's national security since ' The Manchurian Candidate '!

After the When Ho Lee case, the Congress passed a bill and it was actually signed into law by the President ( and I use this term loosely; okay, the inhabitant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue... ) that created an independent group to manage security at our National Laboratories. Well, Richardson's ( or his fearless leader's ) idea of an independent group was to give his current DOE lackies another badge to wear, while still keeping their original positions, ofcourse? Am I the only one who sees a problem with this? The spirit of the bill was to get new folks in and bring the transgressions of the previous authorities to the light of public scrutiny, not put THE LUNTICS BACK IN CHARGE OF THE ASYLUM or THE FOX IN CHARGE OF THE HEN HOUSE! Not since Hitler's pre-World War II Nazi Germany has a shadow organization like the Clinton-SS been created to lurk in the shadows to do the dirty work of those who would SELL OUT THEIR MOTHER COUNTRY FOR THE SMELL OF MONEY!

When Richardson wasn't patting himself on the back for a job well done ( I know, it was completely unbelievable as he repeatedly patted himself with seemingly double-jointed appendages, over and over again ), he was heaping all the blame for security violations at the National Laboratories on the possibly innocent University of California. Whether or not there is a bit of blame to go around to the University of California, who was at least partially in charge of some parts of security at Los Alamos during the When Ho Lee debacle, this is PASSING THE BUCK at it's worst. Do the unclean Clinton/Gore/DNC/Whitehouse spinmeisters really all think we are that gullible? We were not all born yesterday, nor the day before, and they will not pull the wool over the eyes of all the sheep in the flock, no matter how in need of a trim the mainstream public actually is. This did not stop the apprentice liar, Bill Richardson to play his phoney word games instead of giving the Senate straight forward believable answers or take responsibility for the GREATEST SECURITY LAPSE IN OUR NATION'S HISTORY SINCE ETHEL AND JULIUS ROSENBERG SOLD THE PLANS FOR THE ATOMIC BOMB TO THE CCCP ( Remember, those two got gas chamber time for what they did )!

After exchanging the niceties, where the secreatry passed the buck while the Senators attempted interception, Senators of both political persuasions displayed their ire and distrust at the actions of the responsibility ducking political appointee party hack Richardson. Senators from other commitees which Richardson presumably has either lied to or stiffed by a non-appearence, joined in to chastise the amoral, conscience lacking, Clinton puppet du' jour!

Pete Domenici ( R ), Senator from New Mexico, talked about the anti-nuclear people who inhabit the Department of Energy and the last chance to clean up their act, which the Senate is giving the DOE before turning the nuclear laboratories back to the authority of the Department of Defense. The Democrats don't like this, as it is easier to leak and do the old ' quid pro quo ' from Energy than Defense!

Carl Levin ( D ) acted like Richardson's paid defense attorney. He directly lied or at the very least intentionally misled the C-Span audience, when he tried to blame all the security lapses on the Republicans witholding funding. Yes folks, Levin is doing the same thing he did during the impeachment, Whitewater and campaign finance investigations, DEMOCRAT DAMAGE CONTROL. Mixing politics and violations of our national security is traitorous in my book. It was disgraceful, utterly disgraceful. I don't know how that guy can sleep at night and/or look in the mirror in the morning!

Bob Smith ( R ) found Levin's act easy to follow, both of them being rather vicious political partisans stuck in a bipartisan hearing. Smith asked Richardson the most important question, both legally and rhetorically, " Who was held accountable "? Beginning a meelie mouthed, non-answer, denial of even the smallest bit of responsibility, Richardson was confronted by Smith with a list of whistle blowers who have been made accountable for the very actions they themselves exposed and did not perpretrate ( Notra Trulock for instance ). In reaction to Richardson's cavalier attitude, Smith scolded, " Somebody has to be held accountable. Somebody must pay for this. This is not campaign finance. This is serious. You are making the wrong people pay the price ". He paused after, " Hazel O'Leary should be brought here ". You remember her, don't you? She was a previous Clinton cronie appointee, Queen of Quid Pro Quo when Hillary was away.

Richardson replied to Smith with more, LIE. DENY AND STICK TO IT, " I will take action, but not until I get all the facts ". I suppose every Democrat has to cover up in his own way?

Next, Robert Byrd ( D ) spoke the word. He began with a story of how, " on March 28, 198 AD, the emperorship of Rome was purchased ". The punch line to the story was how just a year later, the Roman military unceremoniously assassinated the would be emperor! He continued quoting from the buck passers and non-buck passers of history, with, " No matter how high you are in your department, you are responsible for the actions of the lowliest clerk ". Richardson could only adopt the non-verbal version of a whimper. Byrd preached, " You have been contemptible of this Congress. The mindset in your department is that Congress is a lapdog ". Byrd seemed to be contemptible of Richardson investigating himself, saying, " The horse is out of the barn ". Richardson sat glaring with an arrogance gleaned from being part of the most corrupt presidency in the history of the United States of America, having the gall to stay that, " this administration has been good on security ". Byrd angrily opined, " You have shown a comtempt of Congress which borders on supreme arrogance ". Touching his hand to his chest, Byrd went on, " Some of the members of Congress have no faith in what you say ". He curtly finished with, " I will never support you in any future office you may seek appointment to "!

Strom Thurmond ( R ), President Pro Tempere, said, " The recent violations do not surprize me ". He has a sense for understatement.

Joseph Lieberman ( D ) began, " We've got a crisis here...it is driven, not by ideology but by events ". He cut directly to the problem with Richardson and the DOE with, " There has been a sense that we are not all working on the same team ". Lastly, he warned, " This is the last chance " ( until the labs go back to Pentagon control ).

James Inhofe ( R ), another partisan realist, took a shot at the stench from the Clinton Adminstration with, " The captain of the ship is not Bill Richardson; it's Bill Clinton ". He defended against the other blatant DOE/Richardson excuse/lie that this lax security has been going on for years in previous adminstrations, with, " You go a long way to try to say it has happened in prior administrations; it hasn't ".

Richardson retorted, " I am not looking for sympathy ". Doing his best Martin Bormann imitation to date, Richardson quipped, " My President has been good on security "? I did a double take for a moment, wondering if he had just said ' mein Fuhrer '? Richardson then really whimpered, " I just want to move on ". This reminded me of Rodney King saying, during the Los Angeles riots, " can't we all just get along "?

Max Cleland ( D ), usually a real Clinton/DNC uber alles type, seized the moment to partially demonstrate some spinal rigidity or join in the democRAT danze macabre. He was mildly amusing, in this time of seriousness, with, " The security at our national labs has an Alice in Wonderland-like quality ".

Richardson reacted with a playing the shift the blame game to the University of California remark, " Science and security, there has to be a balance ".

Pat Roberts ( R ), joking about Richardson's repeated mention of initiating ( holy ) POLYGRAPH TESTS as a catch-all, pointed out that, " we don't need a polygraph until there has been a breach ". He blamed an administration which hated the military and security measures in general, with, " Culture problem, oil and water problem, the sheep and cattle problem "; we have an, " accountability problem...Senator Byrd was right "!

Richardson's nose visibly grew as he made poor excuse after poor excuse, including, " What we have here is a people issue ", and we must, " bring personal responsibility to our employees ". Huh? All this guy is doing here is ducking his own responsibility for his own actions, over and over again with a reckless disregard for the truth, personal integrity or the least bit of patriotism!

Jeff Sessions ( R ) got down to some specifics pointing out that, " There was no sign-in sheet ( at the vault ). Anyone could take the disk ( hardrive ) home and show it to their friends ". He challenged Richardson to say this wasn't so, but the banana republic minister-like secretary could only meekly respond with more spin ( lies ), " We dramatically moved to increase security...we have had many successes ". Now wait just a dog-gone minute here, who's security did they move to increase; the security on his office phone so that nobody could hear the ' quid pro quos ' and cover-ups being discussed?

Wayne Allard ( R ), not exactly a Clinton booster, began, " Quite frankly, I will be surprized if any of the questions raised by this committee really get solved and answered ".

Olympia Snowe ( R ), as liberal as a GOP Senator can get, respectfully suggested, " Mister secretary, you have been secretary for two years and your ascertions that you have begun to address those problems rings hollow ".

Pete Domenici ( R ), making a repeat appearence to correct some DOE lies to the committee, pointed out that Los Alamos only asked for eight million dollars for security and not the sixty-five that the secretary had been testifying to, getting every penny they wanted!

Richard Shelby ( R ), chairman of the Intelligence Committee, wished to " associate myself ( himself ) with Byrd ". He then read the riot act, " Secretary Richardson, we are glad you are coming to the second part of our hearing in the classified area this afternoon. Because if you hadn't, we would have had to subpoena you and we didn't want to do that. And we are glad you are coming, for that reason ". Shelby then tried to get a straight answer from the avoiding everything Richardson to a simple question, " Have you been inside Division X since you were secretary "? ( Division X is the unit where the vault in question is located ). Richardson kept going around and around about meeting this person or that from the division, but only in the same building and on the floor above Division X, not giving any semblence of a real answer. Shelby asked the same question several times, having to interrupt the straight answer avoiding secretary's crude amateur attempts at Clinton-speak word parsing, finally urging strongly that, " the question is simple...YES or NO "? The answer he finally got was the one which Richardson was trying to avoid and obviously didn't want to admit to, " NO "! Shelby then unloaded on the integrity and truth challenged Clinton political appointee, " Mister Secretary ( I love it when they address these morally bankrupt Clinton adminstration types formally like that ), I believe you are part of the problem. Look in the mirror and you will see part of the problem ". He cut straight to the quick, concluding with, " There is a malignancy at Los Alamos and I don't believe you can weed it out; you haven't in two years "!

Lastly, of note, Richard Bryan ( D ) couldn't even get a straight answer of how any of the FOUR STOOGES felt about the adequacy of security at the labs in general prior to May 6th. These DOE guys were like mindless robots only programmed to say what their fearless leader would allow them to!

So, if we are to believe the unbelievable, we must accept that: 1) The Department of Energy appointees which took over for the other identical DOE appointees are schizophreniac enough to play the part of both defendant and prosecutor ( see the dementia praeCOX REPORT? ); 2) The University of California people are anti-nuclear emough to committ treason ( maybe a stretch of the old imagination ); 3) The GOP is scrooge enough to put saving a few tax dollars over national security ( a real stretch ); 4) Past GOP adminstrations allowed security to lapse as well ( huh? ) and 5) Bill Richardson is pure as the driven snow ( a real muscle puller )?

Will Bill Clinton's Arkansas Mafia ever be held accountable for it's crimes against American humanity? If the last six years are any indication, the answer to that question is a firm NO! The bad news is that our most highly guarded secrets were compromised, the good news is that there are no more secrets left to protect. It is sort of like Bill Clinton having no one left to lie to and getting away free of being held accountable for anything at all!
