Kids now know that they can kill and recieve little or no penalty!

Minors know and understand that they can kill someone right up until the day before their 21st birthday, and get off with a slap on the wrist. As a matter of fact, the closer they get to the year they become considered an adult ( it varies from state to state ), the less jail time they will spend. Does the ACLU even think this is a fair state of affairs? The two pre-teenagers from Jonesboro, Arkansas; should be executed. As it is, they will be released scot free at age 21; and there is nothing that anyone can do about it. You would probably be forced to hire them or to rent an apartment to them, by current anti-discrimination laws.

The adult gang leaders and other criminal types use THIS to their advantage.

Drug dealers, car theft rings, etc. know they can use kids to do their dirty work for them. They can make dirty deals with the kids and take good care of them ( probably giving them drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes ). The kid knows he will recieve little punishment, and will be rewarded by his adult leader for his illicit loyalty, if caught by the police.

Kids kill kids, also.

The victims of this uncontrolled juvenile rage are not always adults. Those two kindergarten kids from Illinois, killed a pre-teenager for her bicycle! What kind of parents did these two fiends have? Did they have a crack smoking mom and an alcoholic father? These child killers should never see the light of day outside of a prison, and perhaps be executed to save the country, the expense of their incarceration for life.

It is not just murder and organized juvenile crime.

Kids know the adults are at their mercy. They know that with one scream of harassment, that an adult will have to spend his or her life savings in clearing their name in court ( but the lying juvenile delinquent kid will get the welcome free help of some commie, bleeding heart liberal, social worker who is eager to expose society's inherent evilness to the rest of his or her left-wing, knee jerk liberal, ACLU buddies ). They know they can destroy an adult's property or pets, and generally mock the people who are supposed to be in a position of authority over them.

How did we get ourselves into this mess?

I believe, a decade of liberal lunatics passing laws and getting rulings in general, over a minor's right to sue his own parents or pick his parents; the crazy way some adults believe lying kids over responsible adults; or the political correctness of such pseudo sciences as hypnotherapy; has brought us to the sick situation we reside in currently. We have met the enemy, and the enemy is US.

One solution may be to pass a Federal law to cover minor commission of capital crimes. That way, if a state couldn't try a multiple murdering minor as an adult, the Federal court system would have the option to do it, itself.

Finally, I believe that if a minor's parent or legal guardian was additionally held responsible, as an adult, for the actions of his(or her) ward; we would see a dramatic reduction in juvenile crime. At the very least, it would cut down on the blind tranference of guilt to the school, the kid's friends, and to society in general.
