When I was growing up, there were non-United States federal government agencies that dealt with incidences of world hunger and natural disasters. Amongst these were CARE and the International Red Cross. The United Nations was coming of age, but usually left humanitarian aid issues to volunteer groups like the Peace Corps. Foreign countries were expected to take care of their own internal financial situations and not some corrupt International Monetary Fund ( as in borrowing money from other countries or devaluating their currency when in hard times ). Things certainly have changed in these last few decades. As of late, the US military and US taxpayer money has begun to be used for these previously volunteer actions of humanitarianism.
The enemies of world peace and advancers of tyranny have changed around the globe, since the first large United Nations police action, the Korean War. At that time ( the Cold War years for some ) there were two great enemies, Red China and the USSR. Red China has remained intact, and whatever you want to say about them advancing the issues of human rights, it is still a great enemy and an advancer of the tyranny of communism. The USSR has fragmented and poses a different kind of threat. Perhaps, an even greater threat to us, is the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction to smaller terrorist states. Has this superficial lessening of the perceived threat to us, caused the US government to look for new uses of our military? Has our role of ' the world's policeman ', changed to the world's ambulance?
First of all, our military is designed for, and the individuals trained to, blow things up and kill our country's enemies. It was not designed to hand out chocolate bars to starving third world nation people who have over populated their own country through the lack of birth control. It was not designed to airlift sand bags all around the world, to save the structures in other countries erroneously built in flood basins. These issues were usually left to volunteer agencies and the UN.
So, why do we Americans have to pay for this world ' aid ' with our hard earned money, whether or not we individually believe that it is needed? Doesn't every dollars worth of aid that we send, add to our growing National Debt? I believe that the President is financing the rest of the world through the use of the GREAT AMERICAN VISA CARD, and as our debt grows, our standard of living drops. This will eventually catch up to us, or our children!
Where has the volunteerism of the 50s and 60s gone? Isn't there still an International Red Cross and Peace Corps? Yes, there is! Why does Bill Clinton feel the need to order American troops and monetary aid all over the globe, when volunteer aid is available? The answer is SOCIALISM!
Both Bill and Hillary Clinton are devout Fabian socialists; or, at least their records seem to indicate that they are. One of the major differences between democracy and socialism, is that in socialism, the central ( federal ) government controls things like health care, education, and utilities ( obviously, in a democracy these are privately or locally controlled ).
Bill Clinton has added to and expanded the authority of his cabinet ( shifting power directly to Washington D.C. ) through increasing the size of Federal agencies that control everything from emergency management to education. Remember, he did try to advance a Washington controlled health care system, even including a national health care identification card. This is a clear message of socialism. What was the title of Hillary's book on raising your kids, but " It Takes A Village ". It wasn't, " It Takes A Responsible Parent " or " It Takes A Sense of Morality ". This view of the many ( or the government ) raising your own kids, cuts straight to the heart of her socialist nature. Why do these two always see the answer to every question, as a new government controlled program? The answer is SOCIALISM, and breeding an individual's reliance on the central government!
Through his use of Executive Orders, Bill Clinton has created UN zones of conservation on our soverign soil and annexed previously privately owned land. In sending our military on humanitarian aid missions through out the world ( every time he thought it would make him look good personally ), he begins a process where military forces take over what was always done through private volunteer agencies. I believe he is trying to force his socialist ideals on the entire world!
Will this process, if allowed to snow ball, lead to an eventual socialistic world government ( the UN )? Chances are, the American people will pay for this, in a big reduction in our standard of living. We are not just raising the standard of living around the world, but leveling our own down toward the level of a third world country. I have watched our standard of living decline for the last decade. Just take a look at how much your dollar will buy now, in respect to what it was just six short years ago!
We may be the world's last super power, but does that mean we have to be the world's cash cow? The International Monetary Fund ( why do they call it ' international ', when we are the only major contributor? ) only pays money to ultra-rich international businessmen and breeds world organized crime syndicates ( as in the bailout of Russian crime bosses this summer ). This international control over cash and indirectly commerce, has created a world government control that is truely socialist in nature!
Today, as I am writing this on Veteran's Day, Bill Clinton is greeted by applause as he announces more US taxpayer money, and with it American military forces, going to foreign humanitarian aid. It is sad that the American people must pay for helping the rest of the world, by taking money out of our own pockets non-voluntarily and sending it off to oblivion. Let us get our own house in order, before turning our attention to the rest of the world!
