This radical liberal from the 60s is now a radical conservative of the 90s?
Notice that I neglected to put " left or right wing ", in the above description. Liberal is not necessarily " left ". The left is the problem. The 60s liberals were for such altruistic concepts as, equal civil rights for all and the lessoning of the government's influence in our private lives. The far left ( those approaching communism and socialism, in their views ) have aborted these ideals to advance their own agenda of socialized medicine, one world government, and one world economics! They have also mutated the civil rights movement, to be special rights for special interest groups; and not the same rights for everyone.
You may want to characterize 60s liberals now as Libertarians? Whatever label you may want to put on us, we understand what has happened. Here it is:
The civil rights movement, having advanced their issues and acheived equality, has their well oiled machinery aimed at special rights for particular minorities. The examples of these are numerous, and include: race and gender based ( and biased ) preferential quotas in government, education and business.
The leftists, being as close to communists and socialists as folks populating a democracy can be, have bloated the size and intrusive nature of the federal government, as to let it into every aspect of our personal lives, such as health care, education, business and the privacy of what we do in our own homes. Look at how many new cabinet positions have been created since the 60s ( there is a secretary for just about everything these days ). The IMF bleeds the American public to transfuse a third world of graft and corruption, in a vain attempt to level the United States down to that of a banana republic.
We people marching on the right, realize that the issues have not changed. They still are; " equal rights for all " and " less government intrusion into our personal lives ". Just the people with the special rights are no longer the majority, but groups of vocal minorities insisting on advancing their specific agendas; and the government intrusion, is that of a far left gone insane with advancing a pseudo-socialist agenda, where the federal government is your guardian " family " !
