In Littleton Colorado, Sherrif John Stone of Jefferson County, tries to explain why his department allowed Harris and Klebold to murder fourteen of their classmates and one teacher, at Columbine High School. I haven't made my mind up on whether I believe he is incompetent, or just becomes nervous when the video flood lights are switched on. One thing is for certain though, any big city police department would have reacted quite differently than they did at Littleton.
First, Stone has repeatedly called one of the weapons involved, a Tec 9 semiautomatic pistol, a machine pistol. A sherrif should know which gun is what; if he is playing to the media, I would be surprised and disgusted. He gets the benefit of the doubt from me on this one.
Second, the SWAT squad waited far too long before they stormed the building. I believe the details now indicate that the wounded faculty member may have survived, had the police entered the building earlier. This one may or may not hang on Stone, but if he was calling the shots at that moment, he should resign.
Third, information now indicates that a neighbor(s) had complained to the authorities about the activities of the two teenage devils; going to the point of showing hard copies of their sicko website to the police. If this is true, there are a few more bureaucrats near Littleton, who owe them their resignations as well.
Fourth, the criminal justice system in Littleton had just released the two killers from probation. Oh man, I saw someone from that probation department saying they had no indication of the true nature of the kid's depravity. This is really disturbing, to say the least. One would hope that the officer(s) in charge of these two doesn't get any promotions in the near future.
Fifth and finally, the women who bought three of the four guns these two creeps used to gun down their schoolmates, is still walking around loose? Is it my imagination, or isn't giving a gun to ( or buying a gun for ) a minor, a crime in Colorado? If it's not, Littleton residents can all take a long look in the mirror to see another contributing factor. I still believe this women should pay some price, if not eternal damnation.
Ofcourse, the anti-gun lobby went nuts and pushed all the old gun regulations they pledged not to push, after the last round of new final catch-all gun laws were pased last Congress. While they tried ( lied ) to call a sub-rifle caliber carbine ( 9mm ), an assault rifle, the liberals screamed " trigger locks " and " ban gun shows ".
When are " they " going to stop blaming the inanimate object, for something done by a human being?
