With no concern for re-election or working with the Republicans in Congress and his role as an international leader in complete shambles, the President has begun to show his true far left wing socialist leanings. Bigger government, including new programs, bureaucracies and entitlements, are sure to be in Clinton's vision for our future as a tax and spend Democrat. Gone is the notion that he is (was) a " new " Democrat.
In every area of the world, where Clinton has applauded his own triumphs as a peacemaker, the peace process has either stalled or completely broken down into open violence. Northern Ireland has no new government and the IRA has refused to disarm. Israel has halted withdrawls from Gaza and the West Bank, amidst violent clashes, and the Palestinians are on the verge of declaring an independant state, sure to cause a very negative reaction from Israel. In Kosovo, the October cease-fire has turned into new attacks by the Serb forces of Milosevic on ethnic Albanian villages near Podujevo northwest of Pristina. All we hear from the Whitehouse on these issues is silence. This silence may indicate that the usefullness of these areas in creating positive ' wag the dog ' media photo opportunities for Clinton has ended. Sadly, Nelson Mandella, Tony Blair and Kofi Annan seem to be the only world leaders capable of accomplishing something of real note. It is being reported that Libya will shortly hand over the accused bombers of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, for trial in the Netherlands!
Failing to make peace, Clinton has resorted to waging war for popularity. Names like Saddam Hussein and Ossama bin Laden are ones the American public loves to hate. Clinton takes full advantage of this, by engaging in ' wag the dog ' attacks on their assests in an effort to keep his approval ratings in the polls high. These attacks have been exposed as the public relations actions they really are. In light of this exposure, Clinton has turned his attention to his avid supporters and his life long socialist agenda!
Clinton's biggest support groups include: the immoral minority, trial lawyers, labor unions and the ultra rich liberal establishment in general. The immoral minority has gotten gays and women in the military. The problems with this should be obvious to all, as like Kelly Flynn before him, Air Force Capt. Joseph A. Belli has been recently indicted for adultery. I just don't remember this happening very much before women were fully integrated into the armed forces. The trial lawyers have gotten a flood of executive orders creating new sources of possible litagation, through criminalizing environmental and social concerns associated with Whitehouse agencies ( not to mention the barristers employed in Clinton's own defense ). Labor unions have gotten ample representation and influence, as a payback for shadey monetary dealings with the DNC. The teamsters of the AFL/CIO have had people from their leadership plead guilty to money laundering schemes with the DNC. The ultra rich liberal establishment has received everything from government contract awards to stays in the Lincoln bedroom, for campaign dollars " donated " to Clinton's precious DNC or his own personal defense fund ( I won't mention the illegal foreign " contributions " that had to be returned ).
In the Omnibus budget agreement of last year, Bill Clinton heavily waffled on his pledge to " save Social Security first " before spending any of the projected surplus. He just had to have more money for pet Democrat pork projects and new social spending in an attempt to Federalize our educational system even further.
Today in Clinton's weekly radio address, on the heals of announcing another budget surplus this year earlier in the week, Clinton put forth some more socialist ideas for reaching into our pockets for money yet again. The President said his proposed year 2000 budget would include 25 million dollars to create a new arm of the International Labor Organization, an agency of the United Nations. Is this a form of payback to the unions in general or just another socialist program targeting the new world government he likes so much, the UN? He proposed a 108 million dollar plan to boost American exports, especially to Asia. The plan includes more money and power for Federal agencies like the Import-Export Bank, the agency that provides loans and loan guarantees to help U.S. companies sell overseas, and expanding the authority of his possibly corrupt Commerce Department.
I believe that as the opening months of 1999 unfold, barring his impeachment, that the real Fabian Socialist Bill Clinton will begin to emerge. This could easily spell doom to the individual personal liberties we enjoy as Americans. It just may herald the arrival of a new era of stronger government controls in all parts of our lives!
