President Clinton said he sent our military to attack Yugoslavia along with NATO, " to save the lives of innocent civilians in Kosovo from a brutal military offensive; to defuse a powder keg at the heart of Europe ", and to, " prevent a wider war we would have to confront later "? Well, Yugoslavia did what Iraq couldn't do; they shot down a F-117 Stealth fighter ( confront that! ) .
I say Clinton has sent our forces to attack Yugoslavia to take the heat off his own domestic problems. His recent unaddressed allegations of a rape while he was governor of Arkansas and his and his beloved DNC selling out our most secret nuclear warhead and intercontinental ballistic missile technology to Red China, to satisfy his deep greed for cash, have been left in the smoke and mirrors of a concocted ' Robert DiNero-esque ' war in the far-off Balkans. Coincidentally, this is the same part of the world where the " Wag The Dog " war took place. Kinda' fitting don't you think?
Slobodan Milosevic could just cut off the satellite feeds and herd the journalists out of Belgrade, when he wants to crank up the old propaganda machine. It is different for Bill Clinton. Clinton must create a popular diversionary subject and then beg his ninety percent liberal Democrat American news media to carry the fiction instead of reality!
Senator Wayne Allard ( R ) was skeptical about the timing and location of Clinton's latest chapter in cruise missile diplomacy. He cited Rwanda, Sudan and many other incidents in Africa, where hundreds of thousands or even millions of innocent people have been killed in genocidal attacks, in recent years. He questioned the integrity of the Clinton Whitehouse in telling the truth about their planned involvement of U.S. combat troops in Kosovo with, " We are going to end up with ground troops in Kosovo...with very little long term benefits ".
Senator John Ashcroft ( R ) said, " Our troops must receive a clear mission...and only be involved in strategic interests worthy of their sacrifice ". I believe Ashcroft understands how Clinton has turned the Pentagon, the State Department, and other of his ( Clinton's ) Executive Branch positions into a quasi-bureau of propaganda!
Madeleine Albright said, " We have no plans to have American ground troops..." She has blatantly lied for Bill Clinton before; is she doing it again? It is just so sad that this administration can only be trusted to attack foreign targets, when Clinton is on the hotseat ( for giving up our most secret nuclear technology to the communist totalitarian dictatorship in The People's Republic of China for DNC campaign cash, for instance )!
These ascertions by Albright were challenged by Retired Army General George Joulwan, who said that it was time to begin the precise targeting of Serb personnel in Kosovo and for NATO leaders to develop a strategy for using troops. He said on CNN ( still the only decent live coverage network for international war stories like this, but not the incrediblely left wing Democrat leaning editorial content ), " What always happens is the political decision ( to use ground troops ) always comes late ". He ended with the advice to Clinton and NATO, to begin " prudent planning for a ground campaign... so when that time comes, we're ready ".
The British have naturally joined in on the demonization of Slobodan Milosevic and the Serbs in The Yugosalvian Republic, concentrating on their attacks in Kosovo on the KLA. The British Defense Secretary, George Robertson, told a daily news briefing today that atrocities by Milosevic's forces in Kosovo continued to accelerate. He called Milosevic " a serial ethnic cleanser ". " The Serbs are bombarding villages to the point of obliteration ", he continued, " We have heard that some villages do not exist ".
Danielle Sremac, Institute for Balkan Affairs, thought Clinton was " defining aggression like he defines sexual relations " and he was engaging in principally " sound bite foreign policy ". She understands that the people of the world may not be getting the straight facts on issues regarding the Serb actions in Kosovo, the KLA fight in Kosovo and Slobodan Milosevic as a " Hitler " committing genocide!
It is being reported that the rebel Kosovo Liberation Army's press agency said fighting continued throughout the province Friday, claiming more than 30 had been killed in " mass executions ", including 20 slain in Orahovac and 10 in Podujevo. Serbian officials said the KLA had stepped up attacks on Serb forces in the province. It is also being reported that the U.N. refugee agency, which withdrew to neighboring Macedonia, said Kosovo refugees claimed that 20 men were shot to death by Serb forces as they evacuated the Kosovo border village of Goden on Thursday. It was unable to verify the account. The Associated Press reports objectively, that with independent monitors and journalists forced out of Yugoslavia, it was impossible to confirm any of the claims about the situation in Kosovo, on either side.
The one thing that can be reported accurately is the unrest and negative feelings throughout the world rising against NATO and the United States in particular. Various news agencies are reporting on these anti-NATO demonstrations in cities all over the world, and you don't have to own a short wave radio to pick them up. How can we be so sure that the American people are getting the whole truth? The Clinton Whitehouse has shown the ability to lie blatantly with a smile on it's face ( all the way from Cabinet Secretaries to the lowliest paper pushing politically appointed crony ).
AP reported that, there were large protest demonstrations in the capitals of Greece and Bulgaria on Friday. Some 15,000 marched to the U.S. Embassy in Athens, chanting " Clinton, fascist, murderer! " An estimated 10,000 people joined the protest in Sofia.
Most disturbing was the AP report from Moscow ( remember the crazies there still have nukes ). AP said that, angry lawmakers on Saturday demanded an immediate halt to NATO airstrikes on Yugoslavia and called for upgrading Russia's military preparedness and freezing the START II nuclear arms reduction treaty. President Boris Yeltsin, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and Defense Minister Igor Sergeyev joined lawmakers in demanding an end to the bombing, but they said Russia could not risk a military confrontation with NATO. Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov told the Duma that Russia should break the United Nations arms embargo against Yugoslavia. The Duma voted 366 to 4, with two abstentions, to condemn the NATO attacks. This ' conscience of the Duma ' type resolution has no binding power on the Russian government, only calling for improving Russia's military preparedness, temporarily putting aside the START II treaty and calling for an emergency meeting of the U.N. General Assembly. Then, in a separate resolution, the Duma voted to cut off its own ties with NATO. This is all quite understandable actually. It really makes you wonder if Clinton thought this one out, past the point of changing the daily subject for the media talking heads, away from his own serious personal domestic problems?
With all that is going on, President Clinton had the nerve to said, " Yesterday's NATO guarded our borders against direct military invasion. Tomorrow's NATO must continue to defend enlarged borders and defend against threats to our security from beyond them -- the spread of weapons of mass destruction, ethnic violence and regional conflict ". Some world leaders are sure to worry that Clinton's Washington is turning the NATO alliance into a tool for the advancement of American foreign policy concerns ( if not Bill Clinton's personal agenda directly! ). With the loss of an expensive American stealth aircraft, Clinton's approval ratings are sure to drop dramatically; lucky for him the pilot was rescued.
Remember the Serbian television hit from last night's schedule in Belgrade; it was the movie " Wag The Dog ". Tonight ( Saturday ) they are playing a montage of video clips of Clinton lying to the American people and hugging Monica Lewinsky, with clips of a smoking hole in the ground which used to be a 45 million dollar F-117 Stealth fighter. I don't understand the Serbian dialect, but I bet it was an entertaining show for them to watch!
