*On ' Beat The Stressed ', Tim Russert played softball again. His normally crusading style has turned into a whimpering routine, since he broke the Red Chinese espionage story a while back. I guess the White House finally got to him?
Anyhow, he did ask the Arkansas National Guard perfume salesman/NATO General Wesley Clark some questions about Kosovo, but they were all softballs with no follow-ups. Russert made one allusion to the Serbs bearing the brunt of ethnic cleansing, now that NATO has moved in and the Serb police had moved out and Clark said, " It is not a matter of revenge...they are trying to get their property back ". That is total smoke and mirrors, Russert didn't even pressure him at all, as Clark continued to spin for his master ( first Governor and now President Clinton ), invoking " their own property ", again. He was not asked about the ethnic cleansing of Serbs by Albanians in the past, or anything mildly related to it. Clark began to pick up his Clinton/DNC/NATO/Whitehouse ordered line of bullshit, with, " A number of Serb paramilitary have remained behind...it is a violation ". Russert let him stand on that baloney and Clark lied like a reptile to rationalize the murderous behavior of his Kosovo Liberation Army ( UCK ) Drug Cartel NATO partners in war crime, with, " Albanian returnees are concerned about that ( getting their ' property ' back? ) ". Whoa, what a load of bull. Those Albanians are only concerned with one thing, KILLING SERBS and STEALING KOSOVO FROM YUGOSLAVIA!
Senator Orrin opened his Hatch ( R ), " This administration knew about it ( the Red Chinese acquisition of our nuclear secrets ) in 1995 and they did nothing about it because they were in a campaign. They cared more about the campaign. " Hooray for Orrin. Finally someone is willing to tell it like it is!
Pat Buchanan said, " The horrors are now being done on the Kosovar Serbs ". He frankly continued, " The Serbs are the victims of ethnic cleansing ". He too, told it like it is, with, " Mister Clinton ignited this war! "
* ' The Geeks were weak ', as they tried to get ratings by joking with Jesse Ventura from Saint Paul. Jesse was no joke, himself, beginning with a response on a question about lies from the President, " Bill Clinton also said he didn't have sex with that woman ". When asked about whether or not it was okay for a politician to lie, he answered, " I wouldn't think so! " Amazingly, when he fielded questions on gun control from Sam Donaldson, Ventura opined that we should " set up accredited gun training courses ". He ended with, " We have thousands of gun laws out there; let's support the ones we've got ".
Cokie Roberts interviewed Dennis Hastert ( R ), Speaker of The House. On the gun control legislation that didn't pass in the House, he said, " It basically kept guns out of the hands of children ". He then really told it like it is, with, " Democrats took a walk on the legislation because they would rather have an issue ".
*On ' Displacing Damnation ', Bob Schieffer ignored the Red Chinese espionage and Kosovo issues, for a premonition-like program on the upcoming debate on Medicare.
Donna Shalala, Secretary of Health and Human Services, appeared to spout her learned White House talking points fax memo mantras. She was asked about how can Medicare be expanded without raising taxes, and answered, " He ( Clinton ) didn't say he wasn't going to insert money into the system ". Oh man, that is Clinton-speak word parsing for ' raising taxes '. The follow-up was, aren't there going to be higher premiums? The non-answer answer was, " Lower income people will get some breaks ". I suppose that means the real unspoken answer was, ' yes '? The follow-up to the follow-up was, isn't this going to be enormously expensive, where do you get the money? Her whining baloney was, " We will demonstrate where we get the money...people will share in the cost ". She finished her avoidance with, " I don't want to pre-empt the President in talking about the pricing package ". Well, then why even go on the show?
Next came dueling Senators, Phil Gramm ( R ) and Bob Graham ( D ).
Phil Gramm began, " The President had an opportunity to reform Medicare and didn't do it ". He offered up what would happen if Clinton's plan were to be adotpted, " We are going to have to double the payroll tax " to pay for it. He then correctly pointed out with a rhetorical question that " sixty-four percent of Americans have third party programs, why drive them out with a government program, make a problem where none exists? " He finally answered his own question with, to " make a good campaign issue "!
Bob Graham wanted to " change Medicare into a modern program ". He continued, " There is a lot of money on the table ". Now that's a tax and spend Democrat for you; he smells some money and wants to spend it! He wanted to " continue the assault on fraud " and file a " Federal suit against the tobacco industry ". These Democrats are a real piece of work!
Finally, Doctor Nancy Dickey of the American Medical Association, was there to defend their vote to unionize some HMO and hospital physicians. I would wonder when the first doctor ' sick-out ' at a major hospital, costing many lives, is going to happen?
It doesn't look good for the Serbs, now that NATO has their terrorist KLA criminals in position to ethnically cleanse Kosovo and few of our elected politicians are willing to tell the real truth about the phoney contrived nature of the entire Clinton/Gore War in the Balkans. It also doesn't look good for us, as the Clinton administration has sold out American national security for raw political power, the greed of campaign cash and possibly personal Swiss bank accounts. The Clintons don't want to move to Democalifornia, because it is within range of the Loral and Hughes enabled communist Red Chinese MIRVed ICBMs!
