June Bugs?

And another crop of selfish, morally relativistic, high school adults graduate from reform school?

In the 50s the big problem with kids was tooth decay, now it is moral decay. There can be no doubt about this, as it is so obviously illustrated by the public rationalizing Clinton's perverse anti-Christ-like antics to itself. In the same way that our morally bankrupt society found it in their hearts to look the other way over Clinton's utter lack integrity or morality, they begin to raise a new generation of blameless, yet selfish, devil children bent on fulfilling their wildest dreams at the expense of others!

Even in the free-love days of the 60s, it was still a big deal, detention sentence offense, to chew gum in class or start a fight in the hallway. Now, the teacher doesn't dare reprimand the student chewing gum in class for the fear of violating the kids sense of self esteem and the children learn how to fight, by watching the Power Rangers on television, in the comfort of their own homes. This is truely a shame, as shooting out a street light with a BB-gun was an offense punishable by arrest and/or expulsion from school years ago, but now the juveniles are shooting up their schools and neighborhoods with real guns, and the adults are too scared to get up off the floor.

In the 70s, the extreme left wing liberal social experiment began, with lowering the voting age to 18 ( there was some talk about men being of draftable age being able to die for their country but not being able to vote ). Then came the A.C.L.U. with it's battery of lawyers, and like the Energizer Bunny, they just kept going and going, in a morally relativistic way, until all the semblences of discipline were gone from the nation's educational system. Now, it was the teachers who feared the retribution of the students and not the students respecting their teachers; or their elders, for that matter either.

Then the 80s dawned, with the lefties from the 60s beginning to filter into the education establishment in earnest, bringing with them their whacked out ideals of moral relativism and no holds barred doctrine of non-responsibility. This brought about an avalanche of grades based on a curve instead of by percentage points earned and a nightmare-like interpretation of affirmative action programs, guaranteeing a large, yet lower acheiving, graduating class based on a pityfully low passing grade percentage. The class titles changed from reading, writing and arithmatic; into feel good subjects not associated with a particular vocation or science, but on a particular ethnic group or extra-American national origin hyphenated title. The more conservative instructors were too concerned with their upcoming pensions, to buck the radical socialist system being put into place by the snow storm of " teachers " unions, the integrity and intellectually challenged minority and ethnic studies department heads.

Finally, in the 90s and at the turn of the Millennium, the degradathon seems to have hit rock bottom. The nation's test scores are radically down, but college enrollment is up; now what does that tell you about the quality of our educational system, huh? The 90s also brought us the wonderful involvement of those who know education best, the politicians in Washington D.C. ( what's good for rural Montana is good for New York City, after all? ). As the curtain closes on the Twentieth Century, the curtain may be finally closing on the radical, left wing, liberal experiment with our nation's young. Test scores are at an all-time low and juvenile crime is rampant. The national birth out of wedlock rate is now higher across the whole nation than it was in the inner city ghettos two decades ago. The self-righteous " the buck doesn't stop here " knee jerk liberals have failed the test and ruined our once proud and world renowned educational system and it is time for them to step aside; though, like their beloved barrister leader, Bill Clinton, they will never admit their failure(s).

While Hillary Clinton thinks, " It Takes A Village " ( from her pityful book of the same name ); I say it takes a loving family. Bill Clinton obviously thinks it takes him and his puny Democrat party plan; I say give the responsibility back to the local schools themselves and, for those who choose, the clergy. As the bureaucrats take their polls, pass laws demonizing inanimate objects and turning the school grounds into walled daycare center prisons; the conservatives who believe in an ultimate sense of right and wrong, and an ethical system utilizing discipline, seem to be making a come-back. We can only hope, beyond all hope!
