Hamas Halloween Party?

Palestinian police limos transport Hamas guests to Arafat's party...

It is being reported that Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Police have arrested more than 100 Hamas members, in the wake of the Thursday attempted suicide bombing of an Israeli bus full of elementary school children. We have all seen this type of response to the continued terrorist attacks by Gaza based anti-Israeli groups. In the past, they have been released after a short stay!

The question is; are these truely arrests, or just Arafat trying to give the impression of a real crack down? Only a swift and dedicated campaign of rounding up and punishing these animals, will allow the pseudo peace process to continue being implemented. If these terrorist dogs are seen running free, in a week or two, we will know that these recent actions were only a Halloween party for Hamas, hosted by Arafat.

It is also being reported that the Palestinian police cut the telephone wires to Ahmed Yassin's house. Supposedly, the leader of the terrorist group Hamas has been under house arrest, since announcing his support of the Thursday suicide bombing as being " heroic ". Don't the police think that this mad dog has a cell phone? Where do they think he going, anyhow; he has been crippled since he was a teenager!

During the police actions at Yassin's Gaza home, reportedly, documents and weapons were seized. Also, media people were herded away from the area ( maybe the Halloween party has a real tight guest list? ).

Friday, in the West Bank town of Nablus, the police prevented Hamas from holding a march to protest the arrests and possibly stir up more trouble ( I guess Arafat didn't want another event to spoil his own party? ).

I know that I am being a tad cynical about this whole thing, but these temporary actions against Palestinian terrorists have only been " for show ", in the past. If Arafat is serious this time, then there may truely be some hope for peace, as we approach the new millenium. I am also glad that we didn't release Jonathan Pollard, though I can sympathize with his family members, as they thought his trip to Israel was at hand ( it is reported that he actually had his bags packed ).
