Democrats hold out the carrot of government entitlements to a brainwashed public!

One of the main differences between Democrats and Republicans, between liberals and conservatives, is the belief by the forces of the left that the federal government knows all the answers to every problem, while the conservative right prefers to allow the individual to excercise control over his own environment, with government involvement only as a last resort. The conservative believes people should be responsible for their own actions, while the liberal always tries to find a way to blame society for the individual's actions. This difference in the philosophy of government is clearly illustrated by the liberal Democrat's love of federal entitlement programs such as Welfare, Food Stamps and the National Endowment to the Arts. The Department of Education doles out dollars to our local schools in exchange for control over their curriculum through standardized testing ( like some bureaucrat in Washington D.C. knows better than the locals do...or a president who came from a state which was 49th out of 50 knows how to improve the quality of education? ). Now the liberal Democrat establishment Clinton/Gore Executive Branch has it's eyes on the private health care sector. What a way to complete their control over our lives; by holding, or holding out, the award of medical treatment over our heads!

A Democrat has never met an entitlement he or she didn't like, especially true bleeding heart liberals like Ted Kennedy ( who could only be elected in a state like Democrassachusetts ). They suck up to every minority special interest group under the Sun and offer them whatever they want. The problem for us is that what they want is to reach their hands into our pockets and extract our hard earned cash!

Welfare, created after World War II to help war widows raise their families, has been twisted to offer the wives and families of drug dealers and criminals real money and exchangable stamps to pay for their beer, pretzels and drugs. I was doing some volunteer work on a Thanksgiving a while back and I was astounded to find the supposed needy families I was delivering food to had a refigerator stocked full to overflowing with alcoholic beverages and a living room equipped with a gigantic stereo system and an expensive big screen television set. You may say that this was just an abuse of the system. I say, the abuse of the system is the reapportionment of the wealth in our country ala' Leon Trotsky or Karl Marx being done to us by the liberal Democrats!

Ask yourself this question. Would you want your tax dollars going to pay for an art exhibit that mocked your religion? Or, should you, as a citizen, be forced to bankroll an activity you don't agree with? Would a homosexual want to partially pay for an exhibit which condemned, cruelly made fun of or poorly portrayed their minority sexual preference? I think not. Look out, this coming year the liberal establishment, including the left-wing liberal news media, will be pushing to raid Social Security or any imaginary budget surplus to pay for nationalizing the health care sector or a further intrusion into the educational sector.

Okay, let us just say we agree with all these crazy liberal ideas, including making just about anything and everything under the Sun an entitlement. The question would be; where do we stop? If education, health care and affordable low income housing are welcome federal programs, where do we draw the line and force folks to be able to afford things by, heaven forbid, working? How about utilities like electricity, gas and water; aren't these things needed for survival? I contend that if you want to bill the federal government for education, health care and housing, you must also bill them for your electricity, gas and water. Where do we stop? Affordable transportation? Affordable clothing? Affordable entertainment? Do you see where we are heading? It's socialism baby; maybe even the dreaded communism. Take a long look at the People's Republic of China or the fragmented and criminally organized Russia ( ex-CCCP ). I don't think we want to go down that road ( though I could dig a Viper, a new tuxedo and a high definition television )!

No matter how loud the Democrats shout the lie of Ronald Reagan creating the federal budget deficits of the 1980s, it was in fact a firmly Democrat controlled Congress who forced a bloated series of entitlements down the President's throat. Their new lie is on saving Social Security while keeping a balanced budget. If the Democrats somehow wrestle control of the House and Senate, as well as the Whitehouse in November, you can kiss the budget surplus goodbye and herald a new growing series of entitlements to fuel their socialistic morally relativistic agenda. You will only be able to stand back and watch, as they rape Social Security to pay for some perceived benefits that go to their newest minority special interest voting group with a panhandler's hand out stretched!

The federal government is not the only example of liberals using entitlements to gain control over a sector or play to a special interest voting group. Gray Davis, the Democrat elected governor of California, has invalidated the wishes of a majority of his state's voters by refusing to impliment a proposition ( 187 I believe ) which barred illegal aliens from welfare, unemployment, public education and all but emergency health care. In a contemptible ploy to play to the ever growing Mexican voters, this two-faced politician has legal United States and California citizens paying for the entitlements of criminals! Sadly, it seems like Democrats will compromise everything from their own integrity to the security of their state or nation in the pursuit of the almighty election vote. Personally, I believe the willing offering of free housing, welfare, education and health care contributes mightly to the growing influx of Mexicans flooding across California's border from the South.

The Founding Fathers believed heavily in the rights of the states and individual freedoms like property rights. The original 13 colonies were quite different from one another and recognizable names like Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington understood the importance of allowing them to remain so. Thus, there was no federal income tax, central government intrusion into local issues or ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS!
