Finally, mister negative, Steve Forbes has picked up his campaign toys, closed his war chest and beat a hastey retreat back to where ever wealthy magazine owners who decide to run for president go when they want to cry over spilled milk. Maybe the next time he wants to try the Ross Perot routine, he will stop running an attack dog campaign from the very beginning. Forbes is the most Clinton-like of the Republican crowd, in that he seems quite at home twisting the truth the way the Clinton/Gore Administration does. I feel bad for the man, as his flat tax ideas did have some positive points, but for me they were completely over shadowed by his misleading attacks on George W. Bush in the Republican debates. I really started to wonder if he was just trying to make the other Republicans look bad, or if he was just nieve about politics ( or a closet Clinton/Gore shill ).
Anyhow, Bush won the Delaware Republican primary with over fifty percent of the vote, with John McCain in the high twenties; Forbes was in double digits with Alan Keyes in singles. This willows out the neanderthals and leaves Bush and McCain to fit it out with Keyes as a sounding board. The media seems to delight in supporting McCain, as he is a Democrat in Republican clothing, and the easier of the two front runners for Clinton's Crown ( clown ) Prince Albert to defeat in a general election. I find it quite amusing that in these states with open primaries, it seems like Democrats are voting for McCain and not Bradley; could it be that they are consciously stacking the deck against the Texas governor?
Speaking of foul, could you imagine the DNC sponsored soft money campaign ads flooding the airwaves showing elderly victims of the ' Keating Five ' scandal who had lost their life savings to a group of lowlifes whom John McCain just happens to be associated with? The Hollywood liberals are already scripting and storyboarding these spots, while they wipe the drool from the corners of their mouths!
Talk about really foul; I watched a bit of Jack Lew, White House Budget Director and chief spinmeister, as he lied his way through a FY 2001 budget proposal hearing in front of the House Budget Committee. I guess it really is true that to get a position in the Clinton administration you have to be a good liar. Lew refused to admitt that there are actually tax increases in the budget offered from the White House and that they are also trying to get around the Congress on implimenting the ludicrous Kyoto Accords without approval.
Joe Knollenberg ( R ) brought up the " climate change initiative " in the President's budget. He correctly pointed out that, " The administration is implimenting the Kyoto protocol before the Senate reviews or votes on it ". Bill Clinton knows darn well that there is not a snowball's chance in Hell for the Senate to ratify an accord which handcuffs American businesses but gives third world countries throughout the world a free reign to pollute! Jack Lew could only smile like a reptile, while his nose grew like Pinnochio. Knollenberg solidified his position with specific remarks about a truckload of cash being spent on Democrat pet power projects like, " wind, solar and bio-mass " with traditional power sources receiving almost no funding for research. Lew had no straight answer. John Sununu ( R ) was concerned that the budget raises taxes and quizzed Lew on these obvious increases, such as an additional twenty-five cent per pack tobacco tax and a fine for tax preparers who offered businesses legal tax shelters. To this, Lew only whimpered, " user fees are different from new taxes "? Huh, I say if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck; it must be a duck. Everyone better duck!
Oh yeah, if you doubt that the news media is ninety-nine percent extreme left wing liberals, ask yourself why they haven't been covering the trial of Maria Hsia in Washington D.C.? Better yet, ask yourself why the trial is being held in Washington and not in California, where the illegality transpired? Could it be that the corrupt Clinton/Gore Justice Department feels they can twist the truth better on their own home field. Hsia has been a Gore fund raiser since 1989 and organized the corrupt campaign contributions given at the Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple, which Al didn't realize was anything other than a community outreach event?
It is going to be dirty final campaign, I can tell...
