THE PRE-GAME SHOW
Attack, attack, attack; the pre-game march of Hollywood fatcat socialist lefties was excruciatingly long, including: Billy Baldwin running to all the network minicam locations like an obedience trained poodle. Brain dead Hollywood stars, whose bank accounts are so large that they blur their vision so much they can't remember their lines, even with a teleprompter and an ear piece in place. Richard Dreyfuss saying to Paula Zahn, " Hollywood is a great influence " ( He meant ' great ' as ' good ' in this particular context ). Check this out; Zahn asked Dreyfuss why he had a ' political advisor ', and he could only say, " Yes "? I wish the shark would have eaten him instead of Robert Shaw!
Representitive Jesse Jackson Jr. attacked GOP representitives and senators, both past and present, in the typical Democrat ad hominem style. Antonio Gonzalez whined about, " undocumented workers ", his name for illegal aliens. Jimmy Hahn, LA City Attorney, attacked Republicans and Charleton Heston, calling the Republicans " cold hands ", and the Democrats, " warm hands ". " God " bless America became the new mantra. Imagine what people would be saying had the GOP said ' God ' as many times as the Democrats did today!
Hilda Solis echoed one of the talking points memo mantras, " Al Gore will FIGHT for the people and not the elite ". The word FIGHT was their ultimate mantra and it was mentioned more than yesterday ( I know that is hard to believe ). Oh no, Zelda Gilroy was there ( Sheila Kuehl ); where are those horn rimmed glasses?
Andrew Cuomo, Housing and Urban Developement Secretary. I am sick and tired of seeing every DNC fatcat giving positions to and speaking time to their sons and daughters. This country is not an monarchy!
Representitive Maxine Waters, who hollers anything she can think of, no matter whether it bears any resemblence to the truth. She gave a real loud, we are the world type speech, leaving no one ( stone or otherwise ) unturned. " We are a diverse party ", she echoed the previous three days worth of speakers. She attacked, " Republicans can trick some of the people, some of the time ". She really wanted to, " close the digital divide ". I assume by this, she means a computer hooked into the internet in every home, so that every child may download illegal pornography and taught to be E-MAIL SPAMMERS? That one pales in comparison to this, " Mandatory sentencing must be repealed...three strikes laws...lock 'em up and throw away the key mentality ". I can't believe that this kind of crack-house campaigning plays where Ezola Foster was brought up!
WHERE IS THE COMPASSION AND LOVE BOBBY KENNEDY SPOKE OF IN THE VIDEO? I only see FIGHTing?
Kwesi Mfume, NAACP President and CEO, tried to do his best Jesse Jackson imitation but he fell well short of the mark. I think he should pound the podium some more? He slammed Republicans as, " Narrow minded ideologs who want to turn back the hands of time ". He was against, " gay bashing, union bashing and immigrant bashing ". Sadly, by ' immigrant ', he means ' illegal alien '. He then started GOP bashing?
U.S. Senator Dung Heap, Tom Harkin, began his attack on the GOP quietly, but ended just as loud as the rest. He echoed the mantra, saying Gore " fights for the people, not the powerful ". Notice how he hit the FIGHT mantra? He finished by doing a little humor, that Lieberman probably told him, " If you want to go backward, you put your car in R; if you want to go forward, you put it in D ".
Senator John Breaux, " When Joe Lieberman talks about education...he does so from his soul ". I thought he said POLL?
Senator Christopher Dodd, who will say or do absolutely anything for the DNC in the truest sense of absolutely any means what so ever are justified by Democrat party ends!
The FEINSTEIN BEAST presided over the official vote of nomination for Al Gore and Joseph Lieberman came out on stage to hug Dodd and Feinstein. Lieberman " was humbled " again, as he entered with a chorus of, " Go Joe go ". I still want to know why he is running for both Senator and Vice President at the same time?
THE MAIN EVENT.
Kristin Gore made her " first speech ", introducing her mother Tipper Gore. " Tipper Rocks "? Even dancing Tipper is a real zero. She showed a weird " family photo album " video, which turned out to be very well done, indeed. I heard HARVARD for the first and only time. Al made a great Frankenstein!
Al Gore entered from the floor and shook a massive amount of hands. Tipper really sucked Al's face on stage! Al looked great, " Thank you " ( repeat ). He thanked all his family members and Bill Bradley, who was seated so far back, his back was against a wall. He only said " President Bill Clinton " one time. He did say there was " a better, fairer, more properous America can be built together ". He continued, " My focus is on working families ", but, " through all our good times, I am not satisfied ". He took a shot at Clinton's Hollywood buddies in the media with, " Challenge a culture with too much meanness not meaning ". To counter Bush's comment about not running " in borrowed clothes ", Al Gore used, " I stand here tonight as my own man ". I was glad to hear Gore correctly characterize his service in Vietnam, as he admitted, " he didn't face the gravest danger ". This speech would have been a home run, though it still was in Al Gore terms, but Gore began to slow down into that condescending elementary school teacher cadance of his.
He began to get environmentally unsafe for the audience, though he started off mainstream with, " safe, clean drinking water for all ". The big groan from the wholely partisan Democrat audience came after a, " reverse the tide of global warming " comment. He blew it and he knew it, but get over it folks, as that is the real liberal Al Gore talking.
He then started in on the repeating FIGHT mantra:
" FIGHT for an affordable tax cut ".
" FIGHT for a prescription drug benefit for seniors on Medicare ".
" FIGHT to rebuild schools ". Though he hit well below the belt with a fictious concocted Texas example purely for the sleaze factor. The crowd started to chant, " Go Al Go ". He stumbled verbally a bit and rehashed some old campaign stump issues from the Spring, at a moment when he should have been getting pumped up?
" FIGHT for a real affordable patients bill of rights ". How come everything these days is somebody's so-called bill of rights?
Finally he said the words, " I accept your nomination for President of the United States of America ".
I hate it when they do this and I always think they are lying when they say, " I PROMISE YOU that campaign finance reform will be the first bill Joe Lieberman and I will send down to Congress ". I hope he isn't going to resurrect Hillary-care when he says that he wants, " all children covered by 2004 ". He started the promise everything to everyone action in earnest, with, " We will find cures for everything "? " New skills for newer higher paying jobs " ( inflation? ). No school vouchers led to another mention of FIGHT, while he vowed to, " make college tuition tax deductible " ( for whom? ) It is already in many cases? He continued the " budget surplus " sham scam and stoled two from the GOP, with, " end the death tax ", and, " marriage tax ". It is fairly obvious Clinton vetoed the versions of these two bills passed in this year's Congress to give Gore more issues!
" FIGHT for tax cuts that go to working people ".
He almost started to pick up the cadance but failed to, though he did semi-promise to, " completely eliminate the debt ( national ) by 2012 ". He seemed rather disingenuous, hitting, " values ", " responsibility " ( that one is extra hard for those relativistic liberals ), and " teaching our children well ". The way he said that last one, I knew he was hearing Crosby, Stills and Nash playing in his brain. He vowed to crack down on tobacco, offering to FIGHT several more times, crooning, " I will FIGHT for you ". Sort of under his breath, though clearly audible, " I mean that with all my heart ".
HONOR became a temporary mantra, as he found it was an honor to: " defend affirmative action ", " protect Roe v. Wade ", and " pass a law against hate crimes " ( Big Brother is watching you, as these acts are already crimes and the federals just want to get involved )! He started to lose it once again, PROMISING, " to cut the crime rate every year ". Keeping to the unpredictable, he went on, " Radical profiling must be brought to an end ".
WHEN IN DOUBT
" FIGHT for tougher penalties ". Though, he said, " parents need to take more responsibilities ", I was wondering if he still thought the federal government new best?
The most hollow promise of them all was, " I will keep America's defenses strong; they are now ". Huh? Nobody believes that whopper! He started really falling back to that elementary school teacher timing.
" FIGHT for the people, not the powerful ", became his personal, though well used, mantra. I did like it when he said, " The United States is the best country ever created ". When Gore started to try to get serious again with, " pick the hard right over the easy wrong ", C-Span cut to Martin Sheen? Weak, guys; real weak, just as Gore was trying to build up for the end. Gore finished, " Thank you. God bless you. God bless America " ( I mean do you have any idea how beserk the talking heads would go if the GOP said God that many times? ).
Gore and Lieberman, joined by their wives and family members enjoyed an orchestrated balloon drop featuring alternating red, white and blue drops. It was excellent. Gore is a much more wholesome seeming individual in contrast to the outworldly political power hungry Clintons of the last eight years.
Sorry GOP, Al may speak like he has a ring on a string coming out of the back of his head, but he has got this one come November!
