FAL(n)ACY?

The Sunday spinmeisters got some LP out of Puerto Rico today!

With Bill Clinton so obviously playing the " Wag The Dog " game with the American public on a phoney contrived war on terrorism in the spring/summer of 1998, during the height of the Lewinsky scandal, illustrated by the cruise missile bombing of fictitious ' terrorist ' targets in Sudan and Afganistan, wrongly associated with the designated villian du jour Ossama Bin Laden; the real terrorists were laughing at us.

Once again, ( The ) Clinton has proven his love for international terrorists, either as targets for his political games or sponsors for his marching and chowder society? He has offered the convicted Puerto Rican terrorists from the group calling themselves the FALN, a conditional clemency. For those not versed in the powers of the Presidential pardon, this means they would get out of jail scot-free, with no parole or additional penalties. For those who are less than thirty years old, the FALN was a Puerto Rican terrorist organization from the 70s which used violence to further it's dreams of independence. This is quite disturbing, as these dogs were guilty of killing a small number of innocent people and maiming scores of others through cowardly bombing attacks on United States soil!

*With ' the depressing beat ' of the old drumming monkey wind-up toy, Tim Russert joined the Sunday dogs of war in debating this issue at length and ad nauseum.

Representitive Luis Gutierrez ( D ) didn't disappoint those who assumed he would be for the release of the terrorist FALN conspirators because of the sound of his name. This guy must come straight from a neighborhood with a Puerto Rican majority or be on the first team White House talking points fax memo telephone list, as he did more than just tow Clinton's line, he tugged on it hard, with, " We do this ( offer the clemency? ) in the spirit of peace ". Huh? The FALN criminals were killing innocent Americans like so many Islamic Jihad, Hamas or Hezbollah mad dogs, and this was supposed to be in the name of Puerto Rican independence? Gutierrez continued on Clinton's one condition for their release, the renouncement of violence, " They renounced violence...they have done that on two occasions ". This DemocRAT actually had the gall to suggest that Clinton's political football was actually being kicked about by the Republicans as an issue of their own devise with, " They ( the FALN members ) are becoming prisoners of a partisan political debate; I want them home "?

Representitive Vito Fossella ( R ) took the hard legal line, like all the law enforcement agencies who have unanimously suggested that Clinton not free the terrorists, but to no avail. He said, " I call on him ( Clinton ) to rescind the offer ", and further pointed out, " A wide range of law enforcement agencies have recommended against clemency ". Personally, I can't think of anyone, except liberal Democrat Clinton lovers and world terrorists, who want these creeps released. Fossella ended with a rhetorical question, " They believed they were freedom fighters; freedom from what "?

Representitive John Conyers ( D ), of the no respect for the truth Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee, began with more of his patented lies, that may have enough of a percentage of truth in them for him to do the old Clinton parsing of words thing and defend them as only misleading statements, began, " These persons were convicted of no crime of violence ". One of the FALN convicts is their main bomb maker and they all were convicted of conspiracy in the campaign of terrorist bombings, so I am not quite sure how Conyers thinks what he said was even slighty ' true '? He closed, with the tug of the invisible Clinton/DNC/Whitehouse chokechain becoming evident, " President Clinton, when he does something courageous, should be applauded ". Oh man, I am getting nauseous. Sadly, Conyers did most of his Republican bashing by reading from prepared ( White House? ) text!

Senator Orrin Hatch ( R ) began with a comment on the recent Waco massacre revelations and his favorite Attorney General, Janet Reno, with, " I am sick and tired of a Justice department running a big government show, not concerned with the important issues ". He said that the DNC and Clintons appeal to " elite penthouse dwellers " ( I guess he forgot about Hustler? ). Russert then guided him to the topic and Hatch opined, " Virtually everybody in law enforcement recommends against it ". He called Bill Clinton, " soft on terrorists " and continued with, " I personally believe it's ( the offer of clemency ) political ". He ended with another comment on Waco, " There appears to be a coverup here. I would have fired her ( Reno ) by now...I wouldn't have picked her ( for Attorney General ) "!

*Sam Donaldson had more super glue on his comb-over than I thought was humanly possible and he was back to prop up ' the weak '. The worshippers of Cokie Roberts managed to talk about both the FALN and Waco. Personally, I think the recent attention being paid to the FALN monsters is actually too much! Dueling Senators had this to say:

Charles Schumer ( D ), who probably has the Clintons to thank for his election, as they campaigned like chickens with their heads cut off for old Chuck, began, " If the documents show these people would be a danger to society, they should be released. The documents should be made public ". Perplexingly, he then offered, " I don't know the facts here "? Huh, then why was he there? Did he forget to read the Clinton/DNC/Whitehouse talking points fax memo and committ the spinmeister lines to memory? As the topic changed to Waco, he lauded Janet Reno ( ofcourse ), " She has been an indepenedent down the middle person. The evidence is quite clear ". Okay, maybe it is clear to him; but it is quite clear to me that Schumer is another ' Clinton, love him or leave him ( or her ) ' Democrat. He did keep repeating the Democrat's one big lie concerning the demise of the Branch Davidians; the distance away from the ' main ' compound where the FBI agents reportedly fired pyrotechnic CS gas canisters. Like passing the buck, this distance has increased over and over as each Democrat continues to tell the lie. Schumer's estimate of the distance grew it from the original less than fifty yards to " hundreds of yards away from the compound ". I think Chuck should have checked just how big the entire compound was before putting his foot so firmly in his lying mouth!

Phil Gramm ( R ) made it quite clear on how he felt with, " This was an effort to manipulate politics in New York ". On Clinton's criteria for clemency, Gramm opined, " You can't let these folks go if they say they won't do it again. This is unsound policy ". He finally got his emotions going with, " The court of public opinion is already in on this...damage control at the White House is in full spin ". He finished with some sound bites on Reno and Waco, with, " In numerous investigations...the Attorney General refused to allow a wiretap...she is always the last person to know ". He finished with a semi-quip, " She is giving good intentions a bad name ".

On the new Waco evidence, two lawyers closed with very little weakness.

Former Federal Prosecutor Joseph diGenova began, " There does lurk the possibility that someone hid the evidence ". He continued with a sad commentary on the state of affairs at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, with, " The President is so impotent that he leaves other people to solve it ".

Famous defense lawyer and defender of Ruby Ridge's Randy Weaver, Gerry Spence was so far left he came around full circle to join the right, with, " They say they didn't kill anybody but then they are busy shredding the evidence ". He then illustrated the possible corruption of the Department of Justice and it's associated entities with, " Richard Rogers was at Ruby Ridge and Waco. This is a man who ordered the killing of Randy Weaver's wife with a baby in her hands ". He talked further of this man's involvement and called for a Grand Jury investigation, saying, " It is time we do more than have political hearings "!

Some folks say Bill Clinton offered this get out of jail free card to the Puerto Rican FALN to indirectly ( directly? ) help his wife Hillary's Senate campaign gain more support from the large Puerto Rican population in New York. I think Bill may have been trying to kill two birds with one stone; in playing to the Puerto Rican New Yorkers and deflecting attention away from the Red Chinese espionage scandal, as well!
