The nation's first ' black ' President, Caucasian Bill Clinton, pays homage to his most loyal special interest group on Martin Luther King Day.

Amidst a call for people to do volunteer work on Martin Luther King Day, Clinton and his left hand man, Al Gore, announce spending programs targeting his favorite special interest groups. A tax and spend Democrat to the very end, Clinton hasn't met a levy he didn't like or a social program he didn't want to fund! Sadly, on a day celebrating the memory of a man who championed civil rights for all and special rights for none, the Whitehouse duo proclaimed the award of dollars for special interest group housing and quota oriented pseudo civil rights programs.

Clinton announced a discrimination settlement with the mortgage lender Columbia National Inc. worth 6.5 billion dollars in home loans and ownership programs. Evidently, 6 billion is for loans and a half billion for grants to minorities and low income families for home ownership in 28 different states. Where's mine?

Gore annonunced that the administration will request a 15 percent increase in federal spending on civil rights enforcement ( of quotas? ). Okay, so Al didn't promise to " save Social Security first ", but last year the administration asked for an 86 million dollar increase and got only 64 million from the reluctant Congress. This forgetful Whitehouse administration is asking for an additional 84 million dollars this year for this special interest group spending ( maybe they should spend some extra bucks on B-12 shots all around? ).

With Clinton and Gore demonstrating their short term memory losses on the budget surplus, foreign policy concerns were not left out. While Abbott and Costello ( or Laurel and Hardy, if you prefer ) partied with their Whitehouse/DNC special interest group buddies in Washington DC, on this day celebrating civil rights, the poor ethnic Albanians in Kosovo are being tortured and murdered on the other side of the globe. If the people who used to live in the village of Racak, outside Pristina in Kosovo, had a vote to cast for Bill Clinton, they may have been saved from genocidal slaughter? Serbian forces have moved in to cover-up the murder of several dozen innocent civilians, including women and children, by destroying the entire area with tanks and infantry attacks.

Mercifully, not too many talking heads are speculating on the depths of deception to which the Whitehouse lawyers ( liars ) are expected to go, in attacking the prosecution and changing the subject matter, to ' defend ' the indefensible Clinton. Clinton's defense team, the best money can buy, will begin their allotted 24 hours of opening statement time tomorrow!
