While the Clinton White House begs Congress for 6.05 billion dollars more money to fund it's illegal war in Yugoslavia, George Putnam put it this way, " If Bill Clinton had been impeached, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in, because Al Gore would be in the highest tree ".
I'm with him, but I take it one step further. " If the Democrats had not engaged in their partisan minority conspiracy of exoneration, we would not be in the mess we are in "! I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea, as I give a healthy dose of blame to the Republican Senators who also showed no trace of spinal rigidity, by joining them.
Here are the spineless Senators who allowed the United States of America to get to where we are today, by voting not to remove the Impeached President Clinton ( on Article Two: Obstruction ):
Chafee, John H. (R-RI); Collins, Susan (R-ME); Jeffords, James M. (R-VT); Snowe, Olympia J. (R-ME); Specter, Arlen (R-PA); Akaka, Daniel K. I wonder how these guys feel about now? We'll give them another week and then ask again. Give 'em all an x-ray and look for bones? Don't worry, we will have a couple of important House and Senate votes regarding the Yugoslavian Clinton/Gore War, to remember who voted which way or the other on. I don't believe any of them have the guts to close down Clinton's ' dog and NATO show '. After all, it is the Congress that has the power to declare war, so they must have the power to undeclare an illegal war?
I mean the exchange below was really a scary thing to behold, keeping in mind this is our President, for God's sake.
When asked, " What are we going to do if the bombing doesn't work? ", by the Italian Prime Minister; Clinton's answer was to turn to Samuel Burger ( who just happened to be standing next to him ) and say, " Sandy? ". Then, if you remember, Fatburger smirked and said meekly, " Bomb some more? "
Yeah, that was your President. He just didn't have a phoney, campaign stop promise-like answer ready for that one. Any past President would have known that it would be the first question to have an answer ready for!
Here is a sports figure from Yugoslavia, who can't speak the best English, but atleast he is honest.
Vlade Divac, Serbian NBA basketball star, thought the " NATO bombing is totally wrong ". He cautioned that " we have to do everything possible to stop the bombing ". On the media coverage, he said " both government's not telling the truth ". And of the NATO bombing in Belgrade where his family minus wife and kids still are, he said " There are civilian casualties ". He opined, " It's a terrible situation...NATO is doing the totally wrong situation here...President Milosevic is still in power because of them ( NATO ) ".
David Gergen said, " We keep bombing and the refugees keep dying ".
This illegal Clinton/Gore War must stop. Ask yourself how many millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars will have to be spent to rebuild Yugoslavia after this is all over?
