*On ' Eating Press Meat , Tim Russert asked some tough questions.
First up was Madeleine Albright, I am embarassed to say is our Secretary of State. This doddering old lady huffed and puffed and only managed to blow her own Whitehouse Administration down. She hemed and hawed her way through Russert's questions, managing to dodge just about all of them. She did offer, " We are very much on target to make sure Milosevic can't control Kosovo in a tough grip ". I was surprised she didn't call it Kosova', like other antisemitic, pro-Muslim terrorist lovers from the Clinton administration! She left the door way open to United States Army units going to Kosovo very soon and clarified(?), " The troops that would be going there are in support of the air campaign ". She was quick to add the Clinton/DNC/Whitehouse mantra of, " This is not a thirty second commercial ". She didn't answer a whole host of questions posed by Russert, after he started with a description of Clinton's response to a press question of what would he do if the bombing didn't work, by turning to Sandy Berger who smugly said, " bomb some more ". These ducked questions included: ' what if the bombing doesn't work? ', ' has the bombing accelerated the fighting?', ' was there poor planning ', and the follow-up ' was the White House unprepared?'. She had no problem offering another Clinton mantra of villifying the enemy ( or accuser ) with, " We are appalled at the cruelty level of Milosevic ". She vowed to continue " a sustained air campaign, the President has decided this with his advisors ". On whether or not the three U.S. soldiers captured by Yugoslavia were inside Yugoslavian territory, she sheepishly replied, " not to my understanding ". This is the standard Clinton zombie reply, when they know a deniable lie is needed! She finally admitted publically what I knew was coming, when asked about where the refugees from Kosovo are going to go. She said, " THE UNITED STATES WILL TAKE A PROPORTION, A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER ". That is sick man, and they will all become registered Democrats, ofcourse! She wouldn't call Slobodan Milosevic a war criminal, after repeated baiting, but said " Everyone is watching the kind of horrors we are seeing ". Russert, to his credit, even kept the dastardly selling of our nuclear secrets by the Clinton administration to The People's Republic of China for campaign cash alive, asking Albright if Clinton would bring up the subject when the Red Chinese premier visits Washington this month. Albright said, " The President is going to have a discussion with him about that ". Yeah right, sure; whatever. Russert then asked about Johnnie Chung's sworn testimony that the chief of Red Chinese intelligence gave cash to the Democratic National Committee. Albright was visibly shaken by the question, like she thought they had agreed not to ask it on camera and she then whimpered, " I won't comment "? Sad, it is very sad that we have totally incompetent people like this spending billions ot taxpayer dollars and ordering our forces into harm's way!Next up was Vladislav Javanovic, Yugoslavian Ambassador to The United Nations. Russert showed him the now worn out BBC footage that is supposed to be of Serbian atrocities which all the networks were airing yesterday. I have seen this footage several times myself and it is of dead bodies, but very obviously a faked, cut together tape from many different times of year and very different places! Javanovic responded, " Nobody can say that the pictures they show are not massacres from the KLA ". When asked directly if the Serbian army was killing any civilians he said, " No, this is not true ". Finally he was asked about the streams of refugees and replied, " They are fleeing to protect their lives from the fighting ".
Senator Chuck Hagel ( R ) said of the introduction of American ground troops into Kosovo, " We shouldn't take any option off the table. We have a butcher loose in the back yard of NATO. This is bigger than the nineteen nations of NATO ". Sadly, he then invoked images of Saddam Hussein. Slobodan Milosevic is not Saddam. Milosevic has no weapons of mass destruction and is not looking to procure them. When quizzed about why Kosovo and not other more numerically superior massacres and real genocide counted in the millions of casualities, he responded, " We must prioritize...this problem is in Europe...but it is not racist policy ".
Senator James Inhofe ( R ) thought, " All these deployments are making it much more dangerous for America " and " we shouldn't have been over there to begin with ". He declared we should " have an exit strategy. Give them a time we will be gone and let NATO prepare for that ". Finally he said, " The foreign policy of this President is the problem now ".
*On ' Cokie Robert's Geeks ', Sam Donaldson showed a videotape procured ( cut together? ) by the BBC of burnt houses and dead people dated January 4th 1999 but claimed by George Alagiah to be April 1st. No weapons were visible and not blood either, though you could see someone robbing the dead in one shot. Either way, the bodies looked long dead and from many different locations, in widely differing seasons. The tape is an extremely obvious fake. This does not mean, however, that the killing of innocent civilians is not going on by the Kosovo Liberation Army terrorists or Serbs.
Milan Bozic, Belgrade Deputy Mayor declared, " the power plants in the city are still burning ". When asked about refugees, he said, " In Belgrade we have twelve thousand refugees because of the NATO bombing ". Asked about atrocities, he said, " the whole country is victim to this ". He added that these are " atrocities by people, not the miltary, because of the actions of the KLA ". He seemed to say the civilians were doing these killings but " the army commanders are doing their best to control the situation ". He was finally asked about the three American prisoners. He replied, " I can assure the American public there will be no problem with them. Nothing will happen to them. " He ended with, " ofcourse they will not be tried ". Remember there was some heavy Whitehouse spinmeistering on the possible trial of these three as war criminals by the Yugoslavians, but it has now been exposed for the phoney fiction it actually was!
Senator Charles Robb ( D ), Armed Services Committee, on sending U. S. Army units of Apache helicopters said, " I agree ", and it is " the only way to protect the Kosovars ". Wait a darn minute here; just how do you protect with helicopters? Donaldson asked about the number two hundred thousand for ground troops to be shipped to Kosovo, and Robb answered, " that number is not too far off the mark ". He did fear that " we could ultimately win the battle, but lose the war ". He joined his Democrat buddies in the usual rationalization of " the urgency that has frustrated us all has been dictated by the weather ". Hmm, does he really mean ' Clinton ", when he says ' weather '?
Senator Richard Lugar ( R ), Foreign Relations Committee, thought " we have to come to a conclusion rapidly ". He continued his hawkish stance with, " Send in a ground force...that is winning the war ", that will have it's mission as " eliminating the forces of Milosevic ". But he then said this was " the beginning of a very large problem...Milosevic is irrelevant ". Isn't this a contradiction? He finished with, " NATO cannot afford to lose this war; neither can the United States ". Now the truth comes out. The price of NATO respect will be ultimately measured in the number of Americans in body bags!
*' Disgracing the Nation ' with no Bob Shieffer, Sandy " Cheese " Berger, National Security Advisor ( I am finding it growing harder and harder to refer to him as such ) offered up the ex-dental hygenist's view on widdening the war with helicopters and ground troops, though he put the original idea off on the local military commanders. He said that " these units can go into Kosovo and inflict damage " and " we believe they would be useful ". He said the bombing would continue until the Serbs " agree to let the refugees back ". Like, do you really think they want to go back? Now that these thirteenth century dirt farmers know they can come to the United States and live off our taxpayer provided welfare; does anyone really think they will want to go back to their cold mud brick huts in the mountains? Berger was still his meelie mouthed self saying, " We do not believe an invading force going into Kosovo, Serbia, would be in our national interest ". What, did he have his fingers crossed behind his back or something? He then repeated the mantra, " We have to be prepared to stay the course ". He got slightly emotional, singing that we " have to pound away, day after day, night after night " on Milosevic. Getting his propaganda shoes into tap dancing velocity, he declared " He ( Milosevic ) had a plan premeditated, to drive people out " and we must " severly damage his capability ". On the three American prisoners he said " we have no specific information ", but " there was no reason for them to be seized ". What a piece of work this guy is; he can't even keep his story straight from one sentence to the next! He ended by repeating the " stay the course " mantra again. Evidentally, the Whitehouse spinmeister machine has issued strick orders to it's minions to repeat this line as many time as possible on television!
Senator John MaCain ( R ) on the use of ground troops opined, " I would have started preparing to use that option " and " you can't win a war unless you are willing to wage it ". Asked to comment on the Twilight Zone way Sandy Berger seems to see things, he said " I have the greatest respect for Sandy Berger ( they always say that when they think someone is a real buffoon ), but the realities are there ". Here, here finally something out of McCain that is not military support our troops rah, rah rah! On Clinton's possible extremely poor choice of his military and political advisors, McCain said, " The President should consult with some wise men; the ones who won the Cold War ".
Senator Richard Shelby ( R ), Senate Intelligence Committee, thought the administration refused to believe Milosevic's resolve and asked the rhetorical question, " Are we losing the war at this time "? He rightly declared that we should " Turn this running of the war over to General Wesley Clark of NATO and take it away from the bureaucrats ". Here, here; this is the realistic quote of the day! He finished with, " don't unravel NATO "!
Senator Joseph Lieberman opined that " we are engaged in a just cause...in our strategic interest ". He continued, " We cannot stop until we have acheived victory, restored the Kosovo people ". He accused Milosevic, " He has turned the proud Serbian military into a gang of criminals ". He finished with, we should " hold open the option of ground troops ".
Karen AbuZayd, United Nations Refugee Official, on the refugee debacle ( notice how everything about this is a debacle? ) said " We were only prepared for one hundred thousand persons coming out ". I guess the UN didn't remember the quarter of a million or more Serb refugees expelled from Bosnia last year? Oh, that's right, the Yugoslavian Serbs took care of them, themselves!
*On CNN's ' Great Fiction ' Milan Bozic continued to make the rounds. He said, " The KLA is using the NATO bombing as air cover ". When asked by DNC lackey Wolf Blitzer about humanitarian problems in Kosovo, Bozic said " We have the same humanitarian problem in downtown Belgrade right now ". He pleaded, " no more bombs " and was accusatory of NATO and the United States saying, " You open the door to KLA and other terrorist organizations to make a mess of Kosovo ". This is one statement that I hope people realize is very true; the future will tell us just how true!
Senator Joe Biden ( D ) opened with a defense of Clinton's questionable conduct, saying, " This is very early in a campaign conceived to be thirty days or more ". He opined that we shouldn't stop until we have " crippled Milosevic's military capacity " and he " agreed to the deployment of ground troops ". Great Joe, anything to take the heat off your precious first philanderer!
Senator John Ashcroft ( R ) wanted to increase the amount of ordnance dropped on the sovereign state of Yugoslavia because, " We haven't put the number of sorties, like we did in Desert Storm or Desert Fox " ( It is such an embarassment that they used that last name for a Clinton ' wag the dog ' bombing campaign of Iraq, just disgraceful! ). He said, " We need an aggressive air war " but " we ought to explore other possibilities ".
*On ' Faux Views Run Your Mouth Day ', Henry Kissinger thought we had set back relations with Russia and humiliated them. Now there is an understatement for you! That fat toad of a Representitive Jerrold Nadler ( D ) of New York thought we should " send in ground troops immediately to the parts of Kosovo that haven't been cleansed yet " ( I guess he knows he is too obese to fight himself? ). When asked about whether or not the American people would back his idea to send in troops right now, said " I think properly led, they would "? Whoa man, this guy is scary; he seems to be advocating the widespread use of the Clinton/DNC/Whitehouse spinmeister machine to mold American opinion? This is the kind of stuff that despots are made of!
Mark my words, now that the obviously choreographed capture of the three American soldiers didn't whip up the appropriate amount of war-like sentiment, the Clinton adminsitartion will use the introduction of United States Army Apache helicopters as an excuse to send in regular U.S. ground forces!
