Today was the deadline for Al baby to lose a chance at a second elected term as president. If the President had resigned yesterday, Al Gore could not have run for a second term of office, if elected in the year 2000 election cycle. Also, if Bill Clinton is removed from office by the Senate, he could now take over the presidency and theoretically run for two additional full elected terms. This may be a scary thought for some, but better Al than Hillary?

Hey man, that Clinton/Whitehouse/DNC robot ex-Senator Dale Bumpers actually said ( during his Whitehouse defense wrap-up speech ), " No one should vote against the polls just to show mettle or courage ". Hey Senator, yeah you with the yellow stripe down your back; this is precisely the reason for you to vote on the Constitution and not pollaganda. Senator " Dung Heap " Harkin has a permanent yellow stripe down his back and a leash that leads all the way to the Whitehouse. Partisan is, as partisan does, and the Tom Harkins of the Senate Democrats have disgraced their oaths of office. Only Republican Gordon Smith of Oregon has brought up the forced resignation of Senator Bob Packwood, and the fact that his offenses didn't include any form of sex!

Hoof-in-mouth award yesterday had to go to Joe Lockhart of the Whitehouse smear office when he said of his precious Bill Clinton, " I think one of the reasons the people like him, is because he concentrates on his job ". Whoa nellie. Clinton has been the original " Campaigner-in-chief " and Lockstep has the nerve to make a lame unbelievable statement like that? Clinton has raised more money than any other person in history for the Democrat party. He has held more fund raising events in and out of the Whitehouse than any other president in history ( maybe more than all other presidents in history added together? ). Sorry Joe, that remark just didn't pass the laugh test; much less the sniff test!
