Deficit Gifting?

The Clinton White House indirectly returns some of those illegal foreign campaign contributions to Red China?

Not content to only supply the People's Republic of China with nuclear weapons secrets and lucrative financial contracts, the Clinton administration has sunk to new low levels in bankrolling the communist Chinese. The latest innovative idea to repay his Chicom buddies, is a 500,000 dollar foreign aid payment to Beijing?

Yes folks, you heard it right. Sadly, today it is being reported that the State Department, inhabited by FOB Clinton cronies, will be sending half a million dollars to the communist Chinese as an aid package to help them deal with the recent flooding in eight provinces there. It is further being reported that the money is in response to a six million dollar appeal for cash from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent?

Excuse me, is The People's Republic of China a bankrupt third world country which needs financial assistance, or the world's most numerously populated country flooding America with cheap slave labor produced goods to the tune of an approximately five billion dollar monthly deficit? The answer is the latter!

This " emergency " aid to Red China is way out of line, when many of our own citizens are in trouble and the widely publicized budget surplus is dwindling or was imaginary from the beginning. Why can't the PRC use some of that monthly five billion dollar deficit America runs with it, to help it's own citizens, itself? The answer is that it could, but it would rather accept any monetary handouts possible, than pay for it on it's own.

Our trade deficit with the PRC was over five billion dollars in the month of May, 1999 and the year to date total was over twenty-three billion; ranking it number two, only behind Japan in trade deficit terms, with Japan's total over twenty-seven billion. The only other countries with double digit billion dollar deficits with the United States are Canada, with around twelve billion and Germany and Mexico, with ten billion dollar deficits!

I just can't fathom why the Clinton White House would send the totalitarian communist dictatorship in China any foreign aid, but I also couldn't believe my eyes, when the Congress reaffirmed MFN for Red China recently, either. What about that old saying, " don't bite the hand that feeds you "; how about, " don't feed the hand that bites you "!

The United States Census Bureau is responsible for compiling the numbers concerning foreign trade. You can examine these official government statistics on our nation's trade deficit with the world at: United States Census Bureau - Trade Data/Trade Reports .
