*Tim Russert played tennis instead of ' Eating The Mess ' ( actually it was some lame coverage of the French Open tennis match in the usual " Meet The Press " timeslot ). I did hear some references to Bill Richardson, Energy Secretary, being completely eaten alive by Tim Russert, concerning the complete avoidance of the Clinton cronies in taking any responsibility for their actions or inactions with regard to the acquisition of military secrets by the People's Republic of China, from the current administration. Look man, I am tired of rehashing all the crimes allegedly committed by the " Clinton White House Gang ". Read: Report This: The Overview? ( 6-5-99 ) and/or download the entire Christopher Cox Report , if you have two boxes of kleenex or a strong stomach ( or you are a People's Liberation Army Chicom supporter? ).
*Sam and Cokie both had Clinton White House choke-chain marks on their necks, ' This Week '. They had the now usual White House propaganda pair of Secretary of Evil ( Defense ) William ' Conehead ' Cohen and his Shelton Pony. Cohen was his typical pasty white death mask Mister Sardonicus self and the Pony was still hugely general. Cone repeated the practised Whitehouse Talking Points Fax Memo mantras: 1) " The talks are still ongoing ", and 2) " There is no negotiation taking place ". We just wouldn't want anyone to think that there was any compromising taking place, now would we? Mister Ed kicked in, " These are technical talks at this point ", and hit Conehead's mantra number 3) " We want to get the Kosovars back as soon as we can ". Realizing he was quickly getting upstaged by the obliging equine sitting next to him, Mister Secretary ( now why didn't Clinton appoint a bunch of blonde bimbos, anyhow? ) added, " No slow rolling here...rapid withdrawl ". He then broke into a description of the glorious NATO parade going to Pristina to have a Caesar-like triumph, reporting, " K4, that is the fifty thousand NATO forces that are going in ", including " Russians " and " Ukrainians ". When pressed about a possible partitioning of Kosovo, he answered with a huff, " There would not be a Russian sector as such; they would be serving side by side ". He started to get his arrogant blood going so much I thought his make-up was going to crack, declaring that they were telling the Serbs " where they have to go " and " when ". He gleefully added, with no provocation, " Sirens were sounding in Belgrade last evening ". You know, this guy is no better than Von Ribbentrop. Shelton had to hit another spinmeister point with, 4) " This is a great team effort ". Come on man, everybody knows that other than the United States, every country, including Tony Blair's socialist war-mongering dove Kingdom, is only providing a small handfull of forces and resources. The guy dressed in OD green continued to steal the show with a guff, " We have been taking it to the fielded forces in Kosovo ". Oh, does this mean, kill some more innocent civilians? He then told the gigantic lie that they pay him the big bucks for, " We never said we were going to disarm the KLA ". Whoa, wait just a dog-gone minute here; could this be a sticking point? If I was a Serb, I wouldn't want the criminal drug dealing KLA criminals to take over the villages of Kosovo like Mafia crime families. The Pony pranced around one last time, with, " Watch his ( Milosevic's ) forces be degraded ". Yeah, I know what that means. It means, see his hospitals, bridges, power stations and water reserves dwindle to non-existant levels, causing a major humanitarian catastrophe.
Martti Ahtisaari, President of Finland and possible Nobel Peace Prize recipiant ( unless they need some DNC money in Norway ), didn't stay on long, as he doesn't speak english very well. He said, " I convinced him ( Milosevic ) that this was as good as offer as the international community would make ". He continued, " We are not talking about a traditional UN peace keeping force...this is not a partition of Berlin...no special zones ".
Senator John McCain ( R ) is always the media spinmeister's favorite Republican these days, as he is as close to a Joe Biden clone as a dovish Republican hawk can get. The pathetic pink one announced, " I think it is good, it is important...make it clear the United States is relevant, NATO is relevant ". Okay, I get it; so all those innocent Serbs died so that we could be relevant? He went on, " As long as he ( Milosevic ) is in power, he will create problems in the region...bring him to trial...we shouldn't provide a dime of assistance with Milosevic in power ". It sure looks like McCain got himself put on the Whitehouse Talking Points Fax Memo telephone number list! He then really started talking like a tax and spend Democrat and not a Republican, " We have to spend more money...we have to restructure the miltary ". The only thing he said I agreed with was that we should send " a clear message to our Eurpoean friends that they must take over the fighting ".
The last guest was the king of the foam in the corners of the mouth, Senator Charles Schumer ( D ) of where else, New York state. He was asked about only one thing, Hillary ( like there was any doubt after the massive fund raising Hillary did for him; sort of makes you wonder how far back she has been thinking about this; early 1998? ). He said, " I would be very surprised if she didn't run. All systems go! " Beginning to quote from her own campaign mantras, Schumer blurted out, " It's not where you're from; it's what you stand for ". Huh, a Senator is supposed to be from the state they live in, aren't they? He partially contradicted himself ( nothing new there ) with, " She wants to be Senator to help New Yorkers ". Oh man, what a whopper; she is interested in the seat as a stepping stone to ( God forbid ) a run at the presidency. Let's get a saliva test for Schumer.
* ' Facing aggravation ', Bob Schieffer promised to change the litter in his cage, so John " The Rodent " Podesta, White House chief of staff ventured out. Podesta was spinning hot and heavy, but even he had to admit that, " it ( the NATO bomging campaign ) is not over...until we have a verifiable sign they ( the Serb military in Kosovo province ) are withdrawing, it will not be over ". You know man, bombing troops while they are withdrawing, is like shooting an unarmed person or shooting someone in the back. He smugly crooned, " Mister Milosevic has signed on to the NATO demands... the agreement is for all Serb troops to withdraw ". And well he should croon, if everything works out the way the White House spinmeisters portray it; especially if NATO is never held responsibile for it's illegal campaign of genocide on the Serbs. Schieffer tried to press Podesta on how many Serb troops would be allowed back into Kosovo province, but in typical Clinton Cabinet arrogance, he would only finally whisper, " small numbers ". Rightly, though in an extreme act of assumption that their puny plan for Kosovo is going to continue running the way they want it to, he said, " We have done this with only two casualties ". Okay man, look, we have had more than two casualties. The two Apaches ( I guess that is what he was refering too? ) each carry two people, and that would be four; but our wonderful government is absolutely covering up another small handful of American woundings and deaths. Finally Schieffer got to some questions on the Budget, which the Democrats have been stalling by offering endless amendments so they can close down the government again and blame the Republicans. The Rodent lied, " They ( Republicans ) refused to vote on sensible legislation ", and " now they're squealing ". No, no, no; your are the rat around here! On the Clinton/DNC/Gun-control-lobby/Whitehouse talking points fax subject, of passing legislation to shift personal responsibility to an inanimate object, gun control frenzy, he said, " I saw Mister Armey this morning, and he has visions of loop-holes dancing in his head ". Huh? Man, that Podesta has not learned his lessons from the President very well. When you conduct an ad hominem attack, you have to make sure it is rooted in a portion of reality, and not just what you think sounds like a catchy sound bite phrase.Try a junior college campus for that last one, okay?
Schieffer then had the dueling Senator face-off, with Joe " Bully Boy " Biden ( D ) and Don Nickles ( R ).
The Biden Beast disgracefully croaked, " Milosevic is getting the living hell kicked out of him, and if he doesn't deal, he will get decimated ". He firmly puffed out his weenie Democrat stuffed shirt, with, " The weather is clear, and we will blow them away ". Okay, I assume he means " innocent Yugoslavian civilians " when he says " them "? He continued to speak for his master, saying, " Don't wait for a UN resolution ". Uncaring about the civilian body count that he is at least partially responsible for and the complete destruction of the sovereign country of Yugoslavia, he preached like a demonic despot himself, " We should not do anything in reconstruction until Milosevic is brought to trial ". I say, what about him, Clinton or NATO being put on trial for purposely killing thousands of Yugoslavian citizens, to Milosevic's alleged 340 killed in Kosovo?
Nickles was asked about the budget and a White House summit. He disregarded the White House spin and said, " I don't think we need a summitt, we need to pass the appropriate bills ". He carefully described the Clinton plan and it's Theft Of Social Security Funds. He contrasted that with the Republican version with, " Pass a ' lock box ' to set aside one hundred percent of social security ". When asked about Kosovo, he said merely that, " Milosevic is concerned about his own hide ".
Oh yeah, man, don't think they didn't spend one third of the show talking about Hillary Clinton. To Schieffer's credit, did do an Andy Rooney-like commentary where he was setting up his own " exploratory committee " to raise money to campaign for the presidency of Italy. In the end, he said he " would not run, but he would keep the money ". Nice.
*Wolf Blitzer was ' late with his rendition '; allowing guest Pat Buchanan to correctly point out, " Milosevic is a thug, but he is fighting in territory that has been Yugoslavia since 1916 ". Now, I assume that I don't have to point out to you that Yugoslavia is a sovereign country, right? Opportunistic Senator Joseph Lieberman ( D ) hawkishly blurted out, " We have upheld NATO's credibility ". Oh well, just another Democrat dove with claws, who is very willing to trade the blood of poor innocent Serbian women and children, for someone they support's perceived credibility. Sad, just sad. Lieberman went on, " NATO asked us for help here ". Who is this guy trying to kid? Nobody swallows this kind of porridge, except maybe Monica Lewinsky. NATO is only playing a cursory part in this 99.9% American illegal undeclared Clinton/Gore War; and any other suggestion is pure fantasy!
*On ' Faux Views Sundae ', the unholy NATO alliance got to run free. I guess they do say, " We report, you decide ", in their advertisements ( not the NATO bullies, man? ). It is just that watching Jamie Shea whimper, " The refugees want to go back ", is not really any more entertaining than watching his more correctly choreographed propaganda from NATO headquarters in Brussels ( you know, Shea really does do the Hitler-thing pretty well ). In typical ' we heard it all before but spoken with a different accent ', Javier Solana ( God's gift to Spain since Franco ), NATO secretary what-ever-the-heck, said, " We are going to deploy a very robust force of 50,000 troops ".
I say, don't count your chickens before they hatch. I would love to see this whole Balkan mess end without any more deaths, though some accountability for the NATO terror bombing of purely civilian targets in Yugoslavia would be nice. The problem is that most of the media spinmeisters are crowing long and loud, and we have not seen a single Kosovar refugee returned to their home. Just think about this one; we are still in Bosnia after five years, and Clinton had promised to have the troops back that same year before Christmas. Oh, but Clinton has lied before, huh? Okay, it must be the old ' are you going to believe me or your lying eyes ' thing. Yeah, that's it; that's the ticket.
Jesse Jackson put it best, with, " The cost of being there is going to be very expensive ".
