Crumby Chip?

Intel's Pentium III chip has an embedded serial number?

Did I really here that right. Are the new main computer processor chips going to have unique and traceable serial numbers in each and every one? This could be the incredible Hansel and Gretal bread crumb trail for Big Brother to follow you where ever you go? I've got a bad feeling about this!

We should have realized it was just going to be a matter of time before this happened.

Yeah, it is like George Orwell's 1984 is just a bit late; like two decades. Understandable actually, when after the moon walks we thought a Mars mission was only a decade away, and where is it now, huh? This chip thing does have me very concerned. Enough to cause me to call my stockbroker and explore dumping any stock in Intel that I may have.

Hopefully other chip manufacturers will not follow suit, in the name of somehow managing an internet that foils their puny attempts at censorship. When are " they " going to realize that the Internet is global and not confined into their narrow definition of what is acceptable or not acceptable conduct/content? Who the heck is they, anyhow?

I bet THEY is the current inhabitant of the Whitehouse and thus the personification of the Executive Branch of our precious government/country. Who else is it? Certainly not the guys sitting around in the Fabian Society ( though they may be paying close attention and getting a few laughs ). This loose cooperation between a large private sector manufacturer ( Intel ) and our current Federal government ( Department of Justice ) should throw up a red flag on the " Look Out For Socialism " threat-board!

Did I ramble on enough? I bet they make it harder to disable the serial number in the computer chip, than to de-child proof a disposable cigarette lighter!

Is it really safe in here?
