Bauer Bows Out

Another Republican candidate for the presidency waves off; this time leaving the field quite a bit more safe.

Finally the Republican gadfly, Gary Bauer, decided to stop pestering the real candidates and suspend his counter productive, attacking, style of campaigning and go home with his tail between his legs. I firmly believe that any legitimate candidate deserves a chance to air his views so the people can decide for themselves, but Gary Bauer took this proposition way out of line. He only had one major issue, that of keeping abortion on the Republican platform, and he made a complete fool out of himself at the last debate by questioning Alan Keyes's morality in being carried on the shoulders of his supporters in the audience at a fund raiser event.

While Alan Keyes and Gary Bauer were the only two Republican candidates who brought up America's membership in the WTO ( World Trade Organization ) and the current Congress and White House's support of keeping MFN ( most favored nation ) status for the totalitarian government of Red China and their inclusion into the WTO, Bauer's constant droning on and on about abortion was really getting old. I am glad that Keyes has remained, because I believe the Religious Right does deserve a voice, including that of the unborn child and the God, in which we trust. Sadly, this issue of our future enemy, the People's Republic of China, is a moot point with the establishment types we have to chose from in both parties. Unfathomably to me, I can't believe the free traders in the GOP are so blind to the agressive economic war which the communists on the Chinese mainland are waging against us?

I have always believed in a mother's right to chose when to continue a pregnancy, but I also believe the unborn child has rights as well, once it reaches the point when it can survive on it's own. The question has always been for me; when does this viability begin? I have always thought that so-called ' partial birth abortion ', done in the third trimester, was actually ' killing '. This point was hammered home to me when a very good friend of mine had two beautiful twin girls who were born just slightly after their sixth month of gestation. They have grow up not to be just normal, but they are both beautiful and smart. These two wonderful baby girls, now turned children, have proven to me that life is worth preserving at almost all costs!

Keyes will continue to hit the abortion issue, but not in a nasty manner like Steve Forbes has continued to do. This issue must not be allowed to become a major one in November, or the Clinton/Gore Dictatorship will survive for another term. Steve Forbes tries to call himself an outsider, but he thrives on negative campaign ads and twists the truth like a good little Clinton/DNC/Whitehouse spinmeister. Forbes's public stiffness, attacking mannerisms and seeming disregard for the whole truth, reminds me of the VPOTUS, Al Gore. I don't believe that Forbes has the best interests of the GOP or America in mind, when he runs misleading attack ads which play quite fast and loose with the real facts. I can't wait for him to take his negativity and go home for the summer. He has constantly violated the Ronald Reagan Eleventh Commandment of thou shalt not attack a fellow Republican and quite frankly, is being a big help to the Democrats!

So, it is one more down and three to go, as the GOP narrows it's field of worthy contenders. At least the Republicans had the guts to run a primary, unlike the spineless jellyfish in the DNC who have merely had a coronation for their heir apparent, Al Gore and a phoney ' wag the dog ' media campaign designed to make him look good, as a preamble to the general election in November.
