Sometimes the ninety percent liberal Democrat news media even out-does it's own knee-jerk socialist self. Instead of covering First Lady Hillary Clinton's so-called " Listening Tour " ( that means the hand-picked audience doesn't get to ask any questions? ), they should have been covering Secretary of the Interior, Bruce Babbit's Grand Jury testimonial. We know Bruce probably answered some questions, though we don't know whether he did so truthfully or not, while Hillary ducked every single, non-scripted, question directed to her.
The robotic patronizing coverage of Hillary praised her avoidance to answering with specifics, as brilliant ideas or remarkable tactics. Neither Hillary nor any of her defending pundits could offer a solid view or idea on such important topics to them, as education, health care and social security. All they could say was she has been in the forefront of these issues, or she herself said, " What I am for is maybe as important, if not more important, than where I am from ". The problem with that is, we know where she comes from but not what she is for ( her ideas )?
The real issue this week was Bruce Babbitt testifying ( testilying? ) for a second day, Wednesday, in front of Independent Counsel Carol Elder Bruce's Grand Jury, looking into the Interior Department's possible illegalities in their rejection of a request by three Chippewa indian tribes to open a casino in Hudson, Wisconsin. The indian tribes involved gave three hundred thousand dollars to the Democrat National Committee under suspicious circumstances. The Independent Counsel is trying to determine if there was a quid pro quo and whether or not Babbitt lied to a Senate committee about the deal under oath. Babbitt denies everything, ofcourse, but I saw Paul Eckstein, a representitive of a group of the indians, tell a rather lurid story of pressure by the White House and bribe-like contributions to the DNC. Babbitt previously testified on June 30th.
Eclipsing the Grand Jury was Hillary announcing the formation of an official exploratory committee for her Senatorial run. She could answer questions about the make up of this group, but not on her own views. She continued to spew baloney like, she would be a " strong and effective advocate on behalf of the people of New York ". Yeah, okay, but what are you going to advocate? I mean, man, she was asked a specific question about a bridge, but handed it off to retiring Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who has sold out any respect he had left to waddle around like an overage walrus, basking in the ten seconds of fame offered by Hillary's shadow!
What they won't report to the public about Quean Hillary's tour, is the huge tab that we U.S. taxpayers are picking up to pay for the First Lady to campaign for office. The worst expense is the United States Air Force Gulfstream jet Mrs. Clinton so happily cruises around in. This luxury jet costs four thousand dollars per hour to run, while Miss Arkansas only pays us back the cost of a first class commercial airfare. Now, does that sound fair to you? Remember, she was not elected by the people to any office, so why should she be treated like she was? We have to foot the entire bill for her security, including overnight accomodations and other expenses associated with the Secret Service. Oh please...
