The DNC strangle hold on the American media was quite obvious on this second Sunday of the new century ( but not the Millennium ). The vast left wing conspiracy flexed it's media muscle by elevating the issue of gays in the military to the forefront of the Sunday political discourse. The Democrats, not ones to let any minority go unmentioned no matter how small or harmful to society it has become, have placed the interests of less than ten percent of the population over national security and traditional American family values; when, during this week's Democrat debate, both of it's candidates for president in 2000 declared that they would only appoint a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who agreed with their political stance of allowing gays to serve openly in the military. To his credit, Al Gore's handlers realized his grave mistake, in politicizing the military like some South American banana republic, and he recanted the position ( offering up a words parsing defense ala' Clinton at the Paula Jones and Grand Jury depositions ).
Enter Congressman Jerrold Nadler ( D ), supporting and supposedly speaking for Bill Bradley, and Democrat spinmeister Bob Shrum, supposedly speaking for Al Gore though one never knows who this hack is lying for or whether or not what he says bears any resemblence to actual reality. Tim Russert was a welcoming enabler for them to vomit their special interest group coddling bullshit on national television.
B.S. are quite appropriate initials for Bob Strum ( sp), Democrat lapdog and all around conscienceless hatchet man. He weaseled his way through a defense of the VPOTUS and his firmly declared stance on appointing only military men sympathetic with his own gay rights agenda in the miltary, by declaring that, " the litmus test is the Constitution, the civilian control of the military ". The problem with this approach is that it is just not what Gore said. Ofcourse, lies like this never stopped the likes of Lanny Davis or David Kendall in their endless defense of the guilty as sin Clinton and now the spinmeisters are being put to work in an effort to salvage Gore's campaign!
Nadler offered up none of the word parsing defense and didn't change Bradley's stance, only saying, " we expect military officers to follow orders ".
Russert temporarily changed the subject and asked them why their respective candidates were the best choice. Nadler answered for Bradley, that: " 1) He doesn't have the baggage Al Gore does...all the scandals, and 2) He is articulating a broader vision ". Nadler's clear and believable answer was not parroted by Shrum on why Al Gore is the best candidate. Shrum started citing polls ( the best thing these geeks do ) and pronounced, " He would do better against George Bush ". Oh well, a big mouth and a meally mouth; what can you say? Russert closed the segment with a question to Nadler himself of, " Will you introduce legislation to end the don't ask and don't tell policy on gays in the military next year "? Meekly, part of Nadler's answer was, " I will consult with Barney Frank ". Okay man, consult a loud mouthed gay activist politician type; oh please. I am just sick and tired of all the lip service being paid to extremely small minority groups that just happen to be part of the ultra-rich far left wing liberal establishment!
Russert then had a short segment with two Republican supporters of John McCain ( Congressman Lindsey Graham ) and George W. Bush ( Senator Judd Gregg ). Obviously, the main subject was government spending, a much more noble one than sucking up to the gay lobby in Washington DC. Lindsey Graham said, " There is a real good time Charlie attitude going on, with the Democrats spending surpluses we don't have ". In reference to McCain not offering a tax cut, but Bush doing so, Graham opined, " Let's pay down the debt...it may not poll as well as a tax cut ". Judd Gregg was on the opposite side. countering with, " After you take care of Social Security, after you take care of what the government needs; don't leave the extra money in the cash register ".
Russert finished the show with a face-off between General John Vessex, former Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Representitive Barney Frank ( D ), loud mouthed gay activist and open homosexual. Vessex took the voice of reason with, " They ( soldiers ) have to work together, sleep together; anything that disrupts the unity is not good for he military ". Frank, looking haggard, whimpered, " Society is evolving "?
The ' weak who worship Cokie Roberts ' were not much different, though they didn't spend as much time on beating the gays in the military horse as the Russ did. ' Faux ' was a little more balanced, though still leaning heavily to the left as usual. Why is the media so bloody liberal?
