Abbe Lowell and David Schippers are minority and majority counsels on the House Judiciary Committee, respectively. Atleast, on October 5th, that is what they were being billed as...

David Schippers, the majority counsel, was mature and serious. He verbally expressed his read of the Starr referral and added four new charges of his own, conspiracy and lying under oath. You may not agree with him, but he recognizes his job as a guide though the coming proceedings.

Abbe Lowell, minority counsel, is quite a different animal. He did not come off like a counsel, but as an extension of the Whitehouse defense lawyer team. Okay, like after seeing the dog and pony show that the Democrats trotted out at the past Whitewater and Filegate hearings, they were all of a sudden going to really search for the truth? This guy was Dan Rostenkowski's lawyer, a real piece of work. He didn't begin with any narrative about the Starr referral, but a perfect recitation of the DNC/Whitehouse talking points: 1) Begin the hearings with a definition of impeachment, 2) Evidence doesn't support the charges, and 3) It's all about sex. Too make his presentation even more laughable; he repeated that same bogus tax evasion charge against Nixon that was dropped. They keep repeating the same baloney, when they know that the charge was dropped, because the previous two executives had taken the identical deduction ( to the best of my memory ).

Barney Frank and Robert Wexler were a better comedy act, though sadly pathetic.

Barney Frank began his evil court jester clown act, as soon as the two " counsels " had finished. He tried to make stupid jokes about everything ( including the copyright laws? ). He attacked Starr and Tripp again. He even misrepresented Howard Burman's ( there's another piece of work ) amendment, as limiting debate to the Starr referral; when just a few minutes before, it was brought out that it limited debate to only the narrative section?

Robert Wexler, after his yelling attack in the morning ( complete with the little patches of white foam in the corners of his mouth ), tried to vie for the title of clown prince in the afternoon.

The Democrats have truely become a morally bankrupt, bunch of Clinton defense, pseudo-lawyers. I don't think that the whole group of House Democrats, has enough integrity between all of them, for one normal person!
